Like the last 2 events in the Vishtopia series, this event was Balanced Doubles. However, this time we did things a little bit differently. We ran Balanced Draft Doubles.

Like the last 2 events in the Vishtopia series, this event was Balanced Doubles. However, this time we did things a little bit differently. We ran Balanced Draft Doubles.
- Like standard Balanced Doubles, players were seeded individually by skill (though seeding the bottom half is redundant, as you'll see later). The 'best' player was seeded as seed 1, the 'second best' was seeded as seed 2...the 'worst' player was seeded as seed 16.
- The total set of entrants was then split into 2 categories; 'top seeds' and 'bottom seeds'. So for this event (which had 16 entrants), seeds 1-8 were the 'top seeds', and seeds 9-16 were the 'bottom seeds'.
- Each team consisted of one 'top seed' and one 'bottom seed'. Starting from seed 8 (the lowest 'top seed') and moving upwards (7, 6, ...1), top seeds chose one of the bottom seeds to be their teammate. This way, ideally/theoretically the teams would still be balanced out as they would in standard Balanced Doubles (8+9, 7+10...1+16) but since the element of choice was added, the teams may have worked out a little bit differently (eg for desirable character combinations, experience teaming with a particular individual, etc), thus adding a bit of an advantage to the middle-level players who had more freedom of choice.
