yay! So Super Smash Bros. has launched for VC today, and we of course bought it straight up. Had some points left over so we got SMB2... I must say I'm very excited for this opportunity to play the original Smash game. When it comes to fighting games, if I like one, I normally go out looking for any prequels/sequels that are out that I do not own. This can be said for Tekken, Virtua Fighter and Mortal Kombat, and now... Smash Bros. Now that I have all 3 the only ? will be which one to play! We'll see, for now I'm gonna concentrate on Super Smash Bros.

Anyone else get this today? I realize many of you prolly already have it for 64, but now that 64 is back 2 gens, it's possible people's carts have stopped working, gotten broken, maybe the console even. This is a great alternative, as I don't have to hook up my 64 to play it on a cart I don't own, can just play it on ma Wii. As soon as spooky's done playing SMB2 ><

Um... Smash 64 has been on the VC for a few weeks now, hate to say.

However, I downloaded Castlevania 4 on an emulator and played it in my comptuer programing class today. I think I'm going to go buy this game now....

For a few years now, I've pretty much been completely against playing anything but the original game on the original console, so I haven't bought any VC games since...maybe Super Metroid, and its highly unlikely that I'll buy one ever again. At the moment, I own every game I previously bought on VC except Kirby 64, ALttP (I have the GBA remake, but not the SNES version), and Donkey Kong (I have this technically on Animal Crossing and DK64, but I don't physically own it).

...Anyway, it's cool that it's finally released on VC for everyone else. It certainly took them long enough to release it, though. I don't understand why it takes them so long to release some of the best games on VC, although it could just be clever marketing.

For some reason it wasn't showing up when we logged in, but yeah apparently it launched Dec 21st. At least we have it now, and I must say it's kinda refreshing, the pace is quicker than Brawl, anyway. I may get the Castlevania rebirth game for VC, I got Contra rebirth and it's awesome...

I know! I was reading up on this a bit and apparently the launch date had been pushed back a few times *shrug* guess they were trying to build the suspense or something... I had thought maybe they were gonna patch it so it could be played online or something, but nah, just the regular ole game, which is just fine.

About old consoles, total truth. In fact I actually play atari/coleco games -better- when its on a TV and with the old school controllers than w/a gamepad and a computer... but my colecovision hasn't worked in years so now I have no choice but to emulate.

So, wherever you live got SSB on virtual console just now? I got it back in June last year.

They seriously have some schedule issues when it comes to releasing Smash games worldwide. (That, or this was just their attempt at making up for us Europeans having to wait 4-5 extra months for Brawl)
