In competitive play, I have been using Omega Windy Hill Zone when stagepicing FD in tournament play.

  • Grass foliage makes the sapling harder to see.
  • Flat side walls make it hard for enemies to go under stage to dodge bowling ball.
What Omega stages do you pick in competitive play?

I don't pick omegas. No-one should, tbh. Jank blast zones and collision.

I use ether mega Windy Hill or Omega Palutena personally.
Omega Windy hill for the reasons you said.
and Omega Palutena since it's one of the closet to actual FD and good for laggy connection when I counterpick FD

Picking an omega for any reason other than music (and even then, only with a "gentlemans agreement") is pretty jank and banned in some tournaments.

I tend to pick Gaur Plain because of Japan's heavy use of it. However, the best omega is obviously any stage with flat walls extending to the blast zone, for the reasons you said.
