I mean, obviously tech skill. you don't wavedash consistently, i saw a standing laser, you missed l cancels. your movement isn't very fluid either.

but here's a tip: watch that video and every time you get grabbed, think about what you did wrong that got you grabbed. Fox should hardly ever get grabbed by mario. if it's missing l cancels, practice tech skill. if it's predictable attacking, work on your approaches.

also dont laser when you're close to your opponent. you got punished for it in the beginning of the first match.

People tell me waveshining straight down is a bad habit

JC shines with short hops instead of full hops

Just do... more. Idk. Approach more, retreat laser more, sit in shield more, whatever. It seems like a lot of the time you're just standing there waiting.

OK u need quite the bit of work but don't
Feel bad every1 has gotta start sumwhere....

1st off u were kinda just flailing around, like in the 1st vid. Mario would grab u cuz u would run or dash dance right in front of him but do nothing. All your movement should have a purpose.

2nd u was attacking with the shine but u weren't rilly waveshining so it was pointless. U have to learn those follow ups. Also the shine is a beast move but I wouldnt make it my choice of approach if I'm just starting to learn about approaching. Approach with nair shines. Which brings me to my next point

3rd is tech skill, ur tech doesn't seem to be 2nd nature yet. I feel as if ur still thinkin about how to l cancel and wavedash. This needs to be practiced with any char. Me personally I'm just starting to improve my game and my problem for a while was I was practicing tech on a flatscreen(laggy) so I would go to tourney and fail horribly lol. Now I. Got a non lag tv and it all feels so natural now. I practice on 4 chars ganon, falco, falcon, marth. Ganon for fun, falco for thunder follow ups, falcon to get use to his body weight, marth waveshine distance practice. U can practice on whoever u like but practice it. Also to help with aerial shine make the cpu bowser lv 1 put handicap on and damage ratio to .5 then put ur handicap on 1 and practice nair shine. And only practice vs cpu lv 1-3

Next work on your spacing. There is no way to rilly practice this vs a cpu because they don't move like real ppl but learn the properties of your moves. I'm still practicing this myself.

Grab aerial Is good too.

That's all I got happy smashing

fox is all about pressure and you seem to stand around alot. if your not attacking at least rack up some damage with lasers. also when you do get hits in you dont really follow them up, try practicing as falco because he is far easier to follow up attacks with and you will get used to comboing from that.

the only piece of advice i have that wasnt already mentioned would be to stay level or under your opponent. in both fights you would end up on a platform with him under you and you would get sent flying. also PRESSURE. there were moments where you had him but you backed off you need to trust your ability to finish him and if you don't trust that then you just need to play more and get some confidence

Where amazing happens
Learn how to short hop laser. your tech skill doesn't seem bad but you never used it all the running around on plats was for no reason you only wavlanded on lats and stuff while he was dead and when he came back you went horizontal with him this is a sign of frusteration i think you were thinking i'm not about to lose to a mario so ill just go get him. Shine to grab works against mario shine to upsmash shine to dash atackuptilt whatever you want. Also you run out toward him to much off stage fox has a good recovery but it's not very hard to edge guard fox like when you ran off you switched you knocked him off you ran tried to shine gimp him mised then he had the advantage use your dsmash when he tries to sweet spot or grab the ledge jump bad air if he comes high get your edgeguards going be more efficient idk what to tell you about spacing that just comes with practice.
