I have to say, when I watched these I hated them. I'm slightly embarrased at how bad they are. However, I want you guys to know what I look like in real play. Also I want to know from people who know, what exactly I"m doing wrong.

First of all, things I know. I'm predictable and too agressive, I've been playing too many computers. Plus I get too locked in to looking for a kill once they get past 85% and it ruins me. Other than that, tear me apart plz! =D

But anyway, here for your entertainment, is crash in tourny.

Grab more, there was a few opportunities when you could've grabbed him instead of staling your smashes.

Contrary to what you said, I think you're actually being too DEFENSIVE. There were plenty of opportunities where you were in range to do some damage to Marth, but you just stood there shielding. You also didn't take advantage of SH attacks, and played mostly a ground game. One of my favorite attacks to use is a nAir to uTilt or uSmash. Also, if you can get in range at lower percentages, uTilt the heck out of the opponent into a uSmash combo finisher.

transition to tourny play is tough... what place did you get?

ill watch when i get home
Honestly it's not so much the transition. I've been to this tournament at least 10 times, and few others, but even though they're weekly, they're really all the chance I get to play.

During the week, every now and again I play computers just to keep familiar with the controller, and it looks like it's starting to do bad things to my game.

Best I've placed is 5th in a ~30-35 man, this time I placed 8 out of 15 I think. It's almost like I have to re-learn how to play every weekend.

Bane is right, you weren't too aggresive, but IMHO that's good against Marth. Wolf didn't give you any other option but to be aggressive.

Offensive or Defensive weren't your problem. You ARE too predictable. When you recover from below, you always use the Rising Cyclone. If you think about it, many Luigi mainers were able to recover just fine with just his Green Missile and Super Jump Punch only. When you get launched off the stage and use fAir to help you slow yourself down, you don't need to jump right after; it doesn't help any, and your jump could be used better at a later time. When you get knocked back, but not far off stage, you get a free opportunity to throw a Fireball. So get used to throwing a Fireball when you get hit a distance and don't need to recover. I like that you mix up your SH Aerial game with some FFADs (Fast Fall Air Dodges), but you still Roll way too much. WAY too much. The only Roll you should be doing is Backward Rolls.

Jab more. Grab more. Jab Grab more. Your finger is stuck on the C-Stick, 'cause Smashes is all you seem to do on the ground. fSmash is fine though.

you also seemed to get punished when you accidentally full jumped. im sure that wasnt on purpose though but its always good to master the basics.

how exactly do you get punished for using the rising tornado because i usually use it to get up really high then missle and DI my way to the stage, then fast fall air dodge down onto the ground (or sometimes ledge).

usually recover high but not always.

Thanks, that helps. I have gotten over my rolling problem since then, that was like 3 weeks ago, but didn't improve my overall game. Mostly because I was so used to rolling.

I'm not, however, convinced that the jump after the aerial is useless, when you'd be KO'd otherwise. I think it slows your horizontal momentum, though it definetly has its downsides.
I'll have better vids up in the future.

As for the full hops, yeah I switched to L for jump like 3 days before that, so I didn't have that down completely. Needless to say, this isn't my best effort, just the only thing I have recorded.

Thanks for all the input.

I don't think Luigi has to be defensive against Marth totally...whenever I fight Marth it always boils down to who is the better spacer (with Luigi having more to lose per each mistake).
