And we’re back with the last installment in the Venezuela’s Triple Crown series, featuring the biggest Venezuelan tournaments this year. Today, we’re taking a look at Dragon Ascent, the 6th edition of the National Tournament; this year's tournament will be taking place in Caracas and it will feature players from the whole territory.
Let’s begin:
The Rise of the Umbra Witch
In the beginning of this month, Tournament Mode 2 took place. At this venue a quite…peculiar thing happened; one of the two titans, VeXx was defeated by OniGouki, previous Falcon and Sheik main and current Bayonetta player. However, he did not stand a chance against 8A and his amazing mastery of the blue blur.
From Everywhere
Players from all over the Venezuelan map will be coming; one prime example is the Brawl champion, Itox, who comes all the way from Lara and was last seen in Caracas last year at this same tournament.
Also, lately absent figures like P3lox, Strke and Pito will be coming to this tournament; in fact, it is expected that the tournament will host over 80 people.
Amazing Prizes
It may not be a super-major with prize pools of hundreds of dollars. It may not sound like much of a prize, but for Venezuelan audiences, these prizes are a lot.
The prize for the 1st place will be $50 of e-Shop credit, a gift card, or equivalents ($50 is equal to 55,000 bolivars) plus a trophy and a medal. The rest of the prizes start at $5 and expand all the way to $30 with a medal included.
Road to Astra
As all of the previous tournaments, Dragon Ascent will be a part of the ranking used to define who will travel to Colombia to represent Venezuela at the first major tournament featuring players from all over Latin America.

So this marks the end of the Venezuelan Triple Crown series; what did you think about it? What do you think about the Venezuelan community?
As a Venezuelan and local TO myself, I’d like to thank all the other TO’s and all of the players for helping build this community; and I hope it gets further!
