Sadly my parents didn't want me to go at the last minuet because it's next to a bar, The place is in a quote "bad part of town", the people there are supposedly too old for me (I'm 17), I don't know anyone who's organizing it, and the people there could be online predators. Even after I showed them twitch streams, Google earth images of the area, the facebook page, and more they still wouldn't give in.

This is exactly what my parents are like! My parents also don't let me stay out late so I can't really go to weeklies and honestly I think they disapprove when I go to the one tournament I do go to, which is Neumont.

Well, I'm slightly higher than 1/3 of the way up so that's okay. I've also beaten several people on the list higher than me so that's good too.
Wait, Utah's one of the worst states at melee in the nation, and I'm slightly above average in Utah.

Two pages back, @ bellsworth46 said that the monthly Neumont tourney will be on July 11. I (and probably some others) most likely won't be there since I'll be at @Ken Neth's wedding.

Jacob and Spank3d are the same person on those rankings for PM, however I don't think I lost that many games when I went under the name Jacob. I played like 18 games total and lost 5, not 7.

Southern Utah v. The falcons (or some other mid tier). Sorry sotah, but I think to make it competitive, you should take on a limited selection of salt lake. Rocky, soapsuds, rvkys, stream fried should all be there.
Nortah vs Salt Lake - if meleeruler counts, and is there, that cold be interesting.

brawl isn't inherently a bad game. I enjoyed it a lot. I just didn't enjoy playing against X and a few other players. It was way too frustrating.

I'm pretty sure it's a similar system to ELO used to calculate player rankings in chess. Over a large pool of matches played against various people your rating will be an accurate description of your skill level. You can read more about it on the wikipedia article, it's pretty interesting.

Yeah I actually agree. I definitely like brawl a lot more than smash 4 and another smash game that shall remane nameless. Brawl has a lot of very interesting intracacies that I can appreciate, even as a solely melee player.
