using Lucas in a tourney tomorrow

Anyone have any advice? I am rather good as lucas and any help would be appreciated. The tourney is 1v1 double elimination with no items and all maps.

I disagree with running usmashes unless your opponent isn't paying attention. It does have uses when the opponent is getting up from a ledge imo, though. PK Thunder can push them offscreen if you hit them enough with the same bolt while they're recovering. iirc, dsmash can hit certain characters before they sweetspot the ledge, but I can't remember which ones. <_<

If you v toon link, use close combat. Their arrow spamming isnt good for lucas. Faster then pk fre, and shoots 2.

a backwards roll into spam a or dsmash is good, albeit punishable if your opponent isnt shielding

Abuse the all maps. I'm not sure what I'd pick for optimization, but perhaps the bridge of elden would work out (except against pit). I still like FD against non-marth players.

Be wary of the marth, have some good counters and counterpicks ready, and good luck dude!
