USB Problems

Today I plugged my flash drive into a USB slot and it's not being recognized. There are no pop ups saying it's not being recognized; I can't even access the flash drive. It's like it's not plugged in at all. I tried all three slots and none of them work and I used other things that have a USB and they don't work. I'm using Windows 7 right now.
Please help me

Sorry if this sounds presumptuous, but have you tried restarting your computer yet?
That's happened to me a couple of times, and all that was needed to fix it was a good restart. :\
