This is just a quick thing I whipped up in my spare time.

So on a whim, I decided to make a little ZIP package with all of the Super Smash Bros character renders - except I edited them to reflect the 3DS version’s art style!

The normal renders look fine and perfectly represent the style of the Wii U version. But I wanted to make ones that reflect the 3DS version. I don’t think we will be getting 3DS variants of the renders officially either, since E3 footage of the 3DS version shows that they still use the same renders as the Wii U version.

Just as a preview example, here’s Kirby - the bottom is my edit, the top is the original render.

Click the link at the bottom of the post to be directed to a download page for the ZIP file. Every announced character up to Pac-Man is included. Captain Falcon, Lucina, and Robin are not there yet, as I have not found 5120x5120 renders of them yet. They (and any other future characters) will be added once appropriate renders become available.

The ZIP file only contains my edits. If people want the original renders in glorious 5120x5120, I will make a ZIP file with those!

Can't you put them in an imgur album?
But that Kirby render looks awesome though. Shading is kinda weird.

I don't have an imgur account and the renders might be too large. Zip file is just more convenient.

And the shading is like that because the 3DS version has that slight painterly look to it.

might be too large? you're not even sure?

people are going to want to look at their favorite character and download them individually.

Most people aren't going to download your zip file with everyone just to get their character.

^^

And making an imgur account isn't a big deal. It's convenient.

I said "might" because I've never used imgur, so I didn't know how their file size restrictions are.

Just checked though, and these images are too large for imgur, as I suspected.

You guys have to realise that 5120x5120 is a huge file size and resolution. Most, if not all image hosting sites, can't handle these. Their file sizes are above 10MB, and even if they weren't, images above 1MB tend to be compressed for web on these image hosting sites. A ZIP file is the only convenient way to host renders at such a high resolution.

If people really want it, I'll make a preview of each character, but that requires I make a web optimised version of each render myself, which would take a bit of time in terms of saving and then upoading (my upload speed is really quick and well above standard but image hosting sites tend to have caps on this). Even longer if you want an original-to-edited comparison of each character.

Do you think you could make a zip file for all the original renders in their 5120x5120 resolution? I've been looking for the renders in this high of a resolution for so long you have no idea
