Smash 3DS Unlocking Smash Run powers.

Lately I've been playing a lot of Smash Run in an attempt to unlock every Smash Run power to try and complete the third challenge panel, and I've got to the point where I have so many that I unlock two new powers at the most in one playthrough. Is there any way to incense the odds of getting a new power, or do I just have to rely on luck?

It's all sheer luck. You must also remember that some Smash Run powers can only be acquired by completing certain challenges.
