On both the 64 and Melee Smash select screens there were "?" boxes that indicated how many stages and characters there were left to unlock. Do you think we'll have that for Brawl, too, or will they be shrouded in a mystery this time around?

Relating to the old Smashs. Yes.
But I for one don't think its entirely the best idea to do that.
But.. It will be awesome to see how many characters there are... Though I don't recall there being ? boxes..

Well, not ?'s per say. Just blank spaces for the locked to go later.

Smash64: 5 "question mark" boxes in total; four for characters and one for stage.
Melee: 15 "question mark" boxes in total; five for characters and ten for stages. There are an additional six characters and five stages which weren't previously marked by boxes...or maybe six stages...I forget if FlatZone had a box.
Either way, I'm fairly sure that a similar approach will be taken in Brawl.

Ah, see. I remember there being boxes that were ?'s. But I remember there being boxes that just appeared making go "wtf?"
