3. I heard apex is the largest tourny as in most important. is this true?

sorry im new to tourneys im wanting to get more experiance through unity tourneys

the only tourney iv ever been in was gamestops release day tourney and that was just a down right horrid set up.

i never used the numchucks for fighting back then and i still went up 4 brackets but then lost to my best freind in the semi finals.

Basically, in the "Brawl Back Room" (BBR), there were votes taken to see if Metaknight should be banned from their recommended ruleset. Based on those votes, Metaknight was not banned.

The guys who wanted Metaknight banned were upset about this, so they formed their own group and called it the "Unity Ruleset Comittee" (URC), and they voted unanimously (or I think 1 person voted against, I forgot) to ban Metaknight.

Now, those people who wanted Metaknight banned happen to also hold positions of power on Smashboards, so they say that any tournament that does not ban Metaknight will not be given a Sticky on Smashboards, thus making it so that for any tournament to be considered legitimate on Smashboards (except Apex), they must ban Metaknight.

Sorta right. The biggest thing is that it had nothing to do with a BBR vote. The BBR actually had a 50% majority in favor of the ban the last time they voted, which was IIRC sometime in 2010. The URC didn't release their first ruleset until April 2011, and didn't ban MK until just this past week (though technically it was announced in October 20110). The group did not form as a result of anything the BBR did.

It's exactly what All-Characters said, except that next genesis/apex/most big tournaments won't be banning him due to Japan's dominance at apex and the fact that their metagame is superior and they are against it. Many tournaments want to try japan's ruleset now, and vinnie is hosting a japan ruleset tournament soon in NY
