hey everyone! i havent been active on the brawl boards for a while since picking up melee again but i have been playing brawl a little bit now and thought id make note of something i dont see a lot of people doing. its a variation of the footstool infinite except instead of enging it with grab > smash, you can set yourself up for a kill or edgueguard at lower percentages than you would to KO off the side or top

all it is is grab > footstool > down tilt

obviously, the downtilt sends opponents away at an almost entirely horizontal trajectory so characters like marth, link, and ganon will have a lot of trouble coming back from this as well as any others that ahve poor horizontal recoveries. you can then pretty easily edgeguard a character when they are in this poisiton by spaming ice blocks and such.

its worth a try out but its not something completetly facinating

It'd be easier and more effective to kill them from a smash.

It'd be easier and more effective to turn the footstool into a hobble. Close this.

It'd be easier and more effective to cg and end with an usmash. Seriously people! Why NOT get the kill when you have the grab?

Interesting though I guess.

This, even though I did just kinda say it.

The only character I can see this working against is Ike, due to a combination of weight (makes u-smash less effective) and very poor horizontal recovery (makes d-tilt useful).

...It's something to keep in mind if the opponent misses the tech on a d-throw to f-air, though.

I guess that's where my mindset comes in.

But srsly if you play IC's, cg'ing 0-death is a NECESSARY thing to learn.
