I have been trying to get into the competitive smash scene, but I can't find any locals near me. is there any locals that you know of in the Waterloo/Cedar Falls area?

Yes there are. For more information check out Iowa Smash Ultimate on Facebook and ask there. Someone from the area could give more info.
