Ok, so i have this friend who plays as marth always. And for some reason i can't beat him.

At first I mained mostly as Doc and could own him every time, but recently I began playing the IC's (after being inspired by Chu Dat). I still need to work on my Desynchs and chain throws but for some reason I can't kill him until he is at 150%. Any advice?

Can you wavedash and SHFFL?

Noticed any habits he has, or anything that's particularly hard for you to deal with?

well you can grab down throw upsmash around 120% for a guaranteed kill on almost every level, my preliminary advice would be to grab more or use Sheik, Marth is too **** good against ICs.

I havn't quite got the SHFFL down yet and IC are harder to Short hop with.

He likes to edge guard with F-tilt and spams Smash-B =\

He's probably good at reading you if you play with him all the time. try doing something seemingly random. It will throw him off.

I'll give you some help according to the way I play my Marth. Which, I'm not pro or anything close, but maybe it'll help.

- Shield on his approaches. Unless he thinks to grab as soon as he runs, you'll set him up for a counter.
- Come up from below on the edge. Marth's edgeguarding is too good to try and run right into.
- Mix it up a little bit. If you get repetitive with approaches, change up your style and use tactics you don't normally use. Even if they aren't perfect, he won't know how to counter it like he will if you guys were just using the same ol' strategies.

Let me know how it works out; I'm an Icey/Marth main myself. ^^

1. MArth vs IC is horribly lop-sided. Still, no johns.
2. You're just stepping into IC. Don't expect to be proficient with them as soon as you use them.
3. You're trying to chaingrab him. Don't try to chaingrab Marth. Dthrow, Usmash, Uair juggles. Dtrow Fair tech-chase. Wobble. Make those grabs count.
4. You're not using Sheik.

There's actually a stickied thread that explains it in detail written by Wobbles himself. That'd probably be your best reference.
