It is not even confirmed that we will have a Stadium 3. But I guess it could be Fairy, Dark, Ghost and Fighting. Or it could have all types.

Besides Normal, I'm thinking on these types: Ghost, Fairy, Dragon and Psychic. It would fit in a fantasy theme of sorts.

A more detailed idea for the stage:
Ghost would look like a cemetery with Ghost type Pokémon and will-o'-the-wisps wandering around.
Several Gastly and Duskull would float around fading in and out of the stage. Cofa-grigus would appear as platforms, posing as coffins who would reveal their identity by moving around the stage and carrying players standing on them. As expected from a cemetery, the sources of light would be few: Litwick, Lampent, Chandelure and/or Gourgeist would use their light to illuminate the spooky scenery. Phantump and/or Trevenant could appear among the dead trees. An Odd Keystone could be seen in the background, which would turn into Spiritomb in occasional times.

Fairy mode would look like the Fairy type Gym from X/Y, looking like a dollhouse filled with bright colors and royal-looking furniture. The stage would feature two floors, the upper floor having locked trapdoors leading to the ground floor. Being pranksters, Klefki would open them ocasionally, causing players standing on them fall to the ground floor and enable easier passage between floors. In the background, Mawile, Snubbull, Floette, Wigglytuff and Sylveon would casually wander around the dollhouse.

Next is Dragon, which would feature two dragon statues in the background. Each statue's hands would act as platforms, sometimes moving up and down like what happens in the Dragon type Gym from Black/White. This would have a simple design, featuring few obstacles, aside some ruined pillars. Dragonite, Noivern, Flygon and Hydreigon would fly around the stage. Garchomp would be standing between the two statues.

Psychic type mode would feature a slightly surreal background, having four transparent platforms that would move around in erratic patterns, fading in and out from time to time. The floor itself would feature a color changing, checkered pattern and Psychic Pokémon would appear in the background seemingly controlling the platforms. Featured Pokémon would include Malamar, Gallade, Gardevoir, Alakazam and Reuniclus. Background objects would include floating transparent cubes and other geometric figures.

I'd looooove to see a ghost-type version of the Stadium! Ghost-type Pokémons are my absolute favorite ones (especially Chandelure:love:).
I'd also love to see Fairy, Dark and Psychic versions of the Stadium. As for the effects and appearance of each of those versions I trust Sakurai's inventivity.

Thanks OP, I had to go and do a list because of this thread... :p

(Hidden for space purposes)

Stadium 1 types:
Grass
Water
Fire
Rock

Stadium 2 types:
Electric
Flying
Ground
Ice

Types left:

Normal
Fighting
Poison
Psychic
Bug
Dragon
Ghost
Dark
Steel
Fairy

Out of the types left to use, I'm going to predict we'll get a dojo-style Fighting version, a swamp-like Poison version, a fun haunted stage for Ghost type and perhaps a Bug-type forest stage for variety.

My guess is that Fairy types were revealed after the stage was made, so they won't be included, even though I think they'd be an obvious choice.

Pokemon Stadium has always felt a bit arbitrary to me. The stage transformations never feel like they served a purpose other than to change the layout.
So here's my pick:

Steel - Cage match (similar to Shadow Moses) to rack up massive damage.
Ghost - Main platform disappears, replaced with smaller, moving platforms to test agility.
Fairy - "Moonlight" move gradually recovers damage % of character stood on a central platform for a "King of the hill" style battle.

I'd personally say Fairy, Dragon, Ghost are the best bet for Pokemon Stadium 3, as a lot of people said Gen VI has a sort of Fairytale likeness to it, and those are the most fairytale like imo. For the fourth, I'd say Steel because I think Steel has great potential as a sort of construction site stage or something, although I admit it might ruin the theme.

i don't know, there's still a lot of time left for development, so i think a fairy theme is entirely possible. my pokemon choices: flabebe/floette/florges, carbink, cleffa/clefairy/clefable, gardevoir, and sylveon (duh)
