this is ganondorf as he should have been represented in Brawl based on Twilight
Princess (and a few aspects from OoT).
major credit to Akuma for the playtesting.


Attribute Changes:
stronger sheild

Moveset Changes:
new AABAA combo: 'Gerudo Razor'
stab, cut, jab with end of sword, elbow, sword spin, sword slash
NEED PICS!

new up tilt: 'Vivisection"
upward sword slash


same side tilt: 'sparta kick'

new up Smash: 'Twilight Aura'
Stabs his sword upward hurting those above him. he glows with dark energy which hurts ajacent enemys

New Dash Attack: 'Lunge'
its a lunge. go figure.
New up Throw: 'Puppet Master'

New F air: Skullbuster
same as olf F air only cool effects and hits downwardish.

New Back air: reverse punch
same as old. just weaker. not a fan of this move.
New up air: 'Shadow clap'
in the air slowly claps his hands. once they meet above his head, an explosion of twilight particles and darkness emerge. its balenced. ull see. hated the old up air. GANNON DOES NOT DO FLIPS! o_O
New down Air: 'wizards foot'
weakened version of his vBrawl air down B.


New B move: Warlock PAWWNNCH!!!
Same deal as the old one with some tweaks. if used normally on the ground, it takes alittle longer but gets a greater range and a damage/power boost. i figured this move is impossible to pull off as it is so might as well reward the hit.
spinning ground B will be alittle weaker than vBrawl
used in the air will give it a larger range, but a great drop in power and damage
used to reverse in the air will do even less power and damage

same side B
cant fix perfect.

New up B
ok pretty much the same as the old one. changed some effects and made it so if used on the ground will look diff then if used in the air. love this move.

New Down B: Retaliation
Press and hold down B. wind spirals around him and his sword glows red. while this happens, Ganon is invincible, then once you release B, he immediatly retaliates with a quick elbow bash that leads into a sword attack. This was an attempt to make him have a Counter, but sense it is not 100% figured out how Ike's and Marth's work, this was as close as i could get. useful to manipulate the extension of the invincibility. invincible longer than ikes, marths, or lucarios, but you have to manually trigger the counterattack. you will take the % but not the knockback or flinch if hit mid sword swing during the counter attack. the sword attack is interuptable so you can make the conterattack any attack you want it to be (i like to punish disobdience with a sparta kick to the guts)

if used in the air, i made a cool conbonation of dark dive and wizards foot. ull see


up taunt changed:

side taunt is different depending on which direction ur facing and whether or not ur using the sword codes.
down taunt same

btw i think its important to note that my wii broke 1/2 way thru this project so much of this was done blind via communication with playtesters.

college apps are due soon which means i will not perfect this. this is the grand release. feel free to edit/ mod, as long as you site me as a source :)

btw if ur a lazy good for nothing and you dont wanna use PW's sword code (or if ur not NTSC), use this DL link. in this version, he wont have a sword, but hell start with a beamsword which will activate all my custom moves. when he is not holding a beamsword, he will have vBrawl moveset with a cool new dash attack and up smash. (air moves will always be custom)
also, sound effects were removed cuz i know it gets messed up on PAL. :)
EDIT: ok power level got alittle messed up cuz its stacking the move and the beamsword attacks. kinda broken. if u dont mind the sound effects, u can use the above one no problems, however, you wont start with a beam sword.

not sure, i got it a while ago. i think its 4.5 or 4.8 or something like that. its not 5.0 . aperently acording to Sanity'sEnd, prop replacement/modifiers do not work in 5.0

u can use the 4.8 DL i gave or just put the code in urself using brawltweaker. or u can use the beamsword beta version. the beamsword version is just as stable, it just only has the sword when holding a beamsword (hence him starting with one)

EDIT: woah i was wrong. its 4.2 . i can make an updated one with up to 4.8 .

sry about that. im a balenced brawl user myself so yeah. i mod the hell out of my brawl with music PSA, textures and codes and keep my brawl + spakely clean :) its good becasue they truely are two different games at this point....i need to fix my wii...stupid disk drive.

Oh, wow lame... I really wanted to use this but if it doesnt work in 5.0 i can't v_v... sorry. Nothing is worth giveing up 5.0 its to perfect.

I also just realised that all the awsome tweaks made to gannon in brawl+ wont be on this. Like spikeing wizards foot and such... Still wanna try it Y_Y

Other than that, I think you should improve the formatting a bit, like a bit more organisation, increasing the size of move names to make them stand out more to help show different sections better, and some proper spelling, I don't think 'ull' is part of the English language (although according to Wikpedia, Ull is a Germanic god, but I don't think that's what you meant by it).

All in all, it looks like you've done a pretty good job on this, good work!

trust me we tried at kitty corp:meow mix but all we can do is spawn the sword, not manipulate it. whereas what PW was able to do was synk the sword prop itself with the beamsword and give ganon a permanent invisible beamsword.
ill see what i can do about the 5.0

im not gonna organize this. im just glad i finished in time b4 it got too stressfull with college apps.
ill include pics of all the moves as the become available.

also, id like to be able to fix the AABAA combo into an AAAAA combo but wasnt able to as well as perfect the counter for the Gerudo Rancor. ill make those updates when/if i learn how.

so besides the brawl+5.0, Gerudo Razor, and Gerudo Rancor fixes, this is the final Twilight Princess Ganondorf

I thought I'd never get to see an improvement on this Ganon again, although it seems this is the final release you said, maybe if you have time could you tweak a few things I list later on even if it's a few months down the line?

That being said I'll try to get a video up soon, nice to hear from you again though

Also BTW this does work with Brawl+ 5.0, it just took me a while to figure out how to get the prop hacks to work

CRITIQUE:

-----Alright, I hate to say this first off considering how much work you put into this guy but he is way overpowered, and mainly due to his sidesmash, it has way too many disjointed and just plain weird hitboxes that are extremely strong, the sidesmash with the sword without your PSA adjustments was fine really, just maybe add some cool effects to it like you did with the upsmash

-----At the end of the video I showcase a match against a level 9 CPU and show how easy it is to win just by spamming the sidesmash, there are some hitboxes that come way after the sword passes the area so that even if someone does a sidestep, they'll still get hit


-----Another thing to note is that the Gerudo Razor is harder to pull off specifically the input of the B button, it's timing is more awkward than your last update on the other forums


-----Uptilt should have more base knockback and vertical trajectory, just my opinion

-----Warlock Punch needs graphics fixed, when you reverse it there aren't any :confused:

-----No difference between downair and DownB in the air

-----DownB counter, the counterattack just comes out on it's own, you cannot control it, also, you don't take damage during the invincibility frames but can be grabbed, and the counterattack has very low priority, a regular a jab will cancel it, and it still has weird animation glitch at the end

This needs major fixing, maybe just have it come out a little faster if you can't make it so you can control the timing of the counterattack

------@ 9:30 is when I show the flaws of the sidesmash, and yes that would be my phone in the background lol

Needs a little fixing and tweaking

I'm glad someone finally made a Ganondorf with a sword character....But I think this proves Ganondorf's vanilla animations can't really be converted easily. You did a nice job with what you had. In fact I'll probably use this for a while. But I don't think Ganondorf will reach his full potential until we get some animation hacking.

Now on to some more opinionated stuff;

Since this thread has finally been made, I guess I can turn it into the generic ganondorf needed psa hack thread. I have 3 suggestions that everyones already thought of, but for the sake of day dreaming I'll bring them up anyways;

- We should try to use ganondorfs melee sword instead of the brawl one.
- The new Ganondorf should have a completly new moveset with nothing saved (even though I think some of the moves are good for him, I just think we should give him a new moveset so we can )
- Give Ganondorf's current moveset to a Black Shadow model hack. It can be left entirely the same IMO.


Don't let this thread die because I'm very excited about what can happen. Even if it's only a PSA hack for Ganondorf I'll still keep checking for updates. PLOX update to the latest Brawl+!!

Ya, some of the animations are a little awkward (U-smash charging animation) but the huge problem is the stupidly overpowered F-smash. The down-b is cool, i think it's ok that the move doesn't beat multihit moves. It does good damage and should be used against one hit attacks. Overall it's really cool, but sadly the limitation of PSA will make the animations unfixable. Change the d-taunt too cause it just looks goofy now.

You don't need to credit me, but if you do then thanks, but it's definately not worth half credit lol

It's good to hear you'll only be gone for a month, that way even if you don't finish before you leave you can touch up and finalize when you get back, don't worry then, this will become a 100% solid PSA

Oh and the clone engine, well it's very incomplete and not working properly, you can only load from one extra folder in your SD card via button commands but it only does so for player 1 regarding textures, movesets however are forced on all players, I don't even bother with it and you shouldn't either it's pretty much a waste of time, you can just pull out the SD card while the game's on and put it back without any problems(I've been doing it a while)

I've heard that a model injector is being made so we can get actual new models put into the game, this way we can get the real deal for mewtwo, some people are already making models in preparation

Just let me know when you update the DL link for the PSA and I'll get another video out k? Got kenpo now but later I will

i dissagree. the twilight sword looks cooler and was actuially in a game.
i agree for the most part. the only moves i would keep would be the side B, up B, elbow jab, and sparta kick.

Honestly switching between the swords is just personal preference. I'd rather efforts be applied elsewhere!

I actually think there was a great deal of improvement in Ganondorf's moveset between melee and Brawl. The over B in particular is a fantastic Ganondorf move. I may be alone in thinking this but.... I think Ganondorf's brawl moveset feels pretty good. It's not very competitive and it certainly isn't very Ganondorf...so that was why I wanted to leave it in tact and not duplicate parts of it for Ganon's new moveset. Of course, accommodating for black shadow isn't the goal of this thread.

Were I not concerned about duplicates, I would say Ganondorf's over B, elbow, and sparta kick are all great for him. IDK about that up B though. Still reeks of left over C. Falcon.

I'm just trying to provoke conversation and interest more than complain about anything. Again, nice job so far.

Alright, I'll try to stick to the major things that should be fixed before you leave, bearing in mind that you said you'll be back in a month

NOTES:

-----For Gerudo Razor, please fix this one thing before you go, on the 4th hit, the one that's like the sidesmash, there's quite a delay on the hitbox, the sword passes the area and the hitbox delays and comes after the sword has already passed that area

Minor thing to fix is make the B button more accessible and easy in the combo, or better yet make it just AAAAA if possible

Also note that after you hit the B button, the rest of the attack comes out automatically, so you should really list it as AAB, unless you plan on fixing this later that is when you come back

-----Sidesmash is WAAAYYY too weak now:p, just look at the vid, sparta kick has become more efficient, 9% for base and 18% for full power? NO WAY FIX THIS PLEASE!!

There IS a sweatspot that does a better amount of damage and knockback, but it's very hard to get, I think you should just make it a strong swipe

I mean the problem last time WASN'T the power of the attack so much, it was all the disjointed hitboxes which are still there...

READ THIS IMPORTANT!!!!!:

HERE'S what I suggest, since this will probably be your last update for a while and I do want to play as the Ganon in the meantime and have him be fair, how about you take out the adjustments to the sidesmash completely....for now that is, sorry but there's way too many disjointed hitboxes, the base sidesmash with just the sword codes is perfectly fine for now, if you want to add those cool effects like you have on the upsmash, that would be greatly welcomed, just do this until you come back

-----Warlock Punch still has no graphics when reversed






Ok try to fix everything above before you go, particularly the sidesmash, I don't think taking out your adjustments for now should be too hard, and the delay on 4th hit of Gerudo Razor

Now onto the lesser things

-----Is there supposed to be a spin attack on SideB? Cause I mean, well there isn't but IDK if you tried to put it in yet

-----DownB in Air, yes I forgot to try it out in my first video, I'll upload a second one in a minute, it's cool, very cool, some suggestions for the future when this is of more importance, try to angle it completely vertical so it goes straight down, speed it up by a good amount, give it shockwave effects when it lands, and make enemies who are very close to Ganon stick into the ground

This would be so close to his move from OOT

-----For the DownB counter, I mean you can't grab Ganon now which is good, but you still can't time the counter, so before you leave, maybe make the counterattack come out JUST A LITTLE faster, that way it can be used immediately on a single hit without having Ganon be open for punishment





Remember, main things for this update are:
-Sidesmash(take out adjustments for now, but add some graphics effects like the upsmash)
-Gerudo Razor(fix delay on fourth hit)
-Warlock Punch(Make graphics appear on it when it's reversed)
-Counterattack, shorten the time it takes to come out BY A LITTLE! if you have time

Just do this much and we should all be good for quite a while K?

do you know the comand of it? like the subaction name?
ok ill fix the side smash and graphic bloopers befor i drop this. ill try to get to it tommorrow.
o and thats odd about the down B because it worked fine when i tried it on my emulator....odd.
its propbably just my mistake so ill fix that up in a jiffy....tommorrow.

Oh and one more thing about the sidesmash, leave in the sound effects, what I mean is, keep the sound effect you had, I really don't like the beam sword sound, and some cool graphics like on the upsmash would be great, but the rest should be unmodified until you get back

i think trophy stand throw ( not assist trophy get ) is specialcapture...anyways i think it looks good for his aerials! i tried them out in SSE looks pretty cool. perhaps switch backward aerial item throw with his bair ( backwards punch) and fair can also be item throw. maybe trophy stand down throw could be nair or midair super scope charge?
maybe new dodge = grab release?
i suggest changing neutral b
