How can you get out faster? Out of chain grabs and everything... i mean like how LVL 9s get out so fast, is it like getting out of grabs? Just rotating the control stick (counts as 4 buttons) and tapping A or whatever i guess?

I searched it but i couldnt find anything with in depth info on this subject, so a link would be appreciated if you can.

You have to remember that it is possible for the computer's moves to be frame perfect, as a perfect example would be their uncanny ability to powershield every second to third bolt from Fox's blaster. If they can move in frame perfect motion, there is no doubt that (in the mind of the computer) it can button-mash incredibly fast.

I hope I've answered your question.

I'm asking how is it done... So it IS the same way you escape from grabs?

I know i wont be able to do it as good as a lvl 9 but with practice maybe it can be of SOME use, if not i'm still curious.

Ok, one more thing... does moving the control stick back and forth quarter circle still work like rotating?

i think moving the stick is the same as rotating, but i dont think its as fast
theres definitely data on escaping grabs somewhere

getting out of tumbling? u move joystick side to side as fast asyou can, like dashdancing... thats what i do... but... if its the same as getting out of grabs, ive been very wrong

How long you'll be in a tumble is definitely based on your percent and the 'power' of the move you are hit with. I'm not aware of any evidence that button-mashing during this phase will speed it up at all, only ensure to untumble as soon as you could since you're constantly hitting buttons. If someone can demonstrate that it DOES help, other than opinion, I would be very interested.

I lol'd at untumble.

And, I also agree with the fact that mashing buttons would, in fact, allow you to "untumble", lol, as soon as the game allows.

I'm going to test this today. I'll post the results unless somebody else does first.

You can only "untumble" after your stun is finished.
The stun time however can't be reduced.
But if you don't do anything, you won't see that it has finished : you'll stay in the tumbling animation ; but since the stun is over, you can in fact double jump, air dodge, do an aerial or a B move, or "untumble" by smashing the control stick left or right.

You can also input a double jump a lot of time before the stun ends (something like half a second), and your character will double jump as soon as he can (right when the stun period ends). So if you just press X or Y regularly, you'll double jump asap. No need to be fast or to mash anything.
At least it does that in our Pal version.

Mashing buttons or rotating the control stick won't help you to untumble faster.
The best thing to do is to learn the stun time of every move and plan accordingly.

Bolded part (air dodge) is actually wrong. As long as you're tumbling, even if the stun's over and you could jump/attack, you won't be able to airdodge unless you shake yourself out of the stun animation into the normal falling one. This is especially crucial for Link/YLink/Samus players, because it prevents you from airdodging to a grapple/hookshot to make it back on the ledge.
