Trying To Find A Good Venue - Ideas?

I'm a high school student in CT, around New Haven area. We have some pretty good tournies, but most are either far away (an hour or so) or during the weekday, which isn't really good for my high school schedule. I've always been interested in trying to run a tournament, with help of course, so I've been trying to find somewhere to run a weekend tournament, maybe bimonthly or something. I can't for the life of me find a decent venue. I'm just looking for any ideas. Thanks!

I don't know much about that area but do you have libarys or game shops? See if your school will let you hold one in your gym or something.
