Hi! I'm having problems with Giga bowser and Wario man online. They work nice against Cpu's or other players but when I go online and choose Giga bowser or Wario man I get them on the wifi room and I can smash the sandbag but when the game starts I'm Wario if I chose Wario man or Bowser if I chose Giga bowser.
I use Riivolution and I'm PAL.
The codes I have on my SD card:

Hey there =) It looks like you've got everything set up perfectly - for offline use that is. There are actually different codes you need in order to use Giga Bowser and Warioman online. Here is an example:

Giga Bowser - Hold L

284DE4B0 FFBF0040 < --- This is your button activator.
F6000001 80508100
7C7C1B78 7CBD2B78
14000170 38A0002C
E0000000 80008000

Choose any character, then hold the button activator from BEFORE you progress to the stage select (before you press start), while holding L, press start, and release L once you are on the stage select.

These won't change your character in the practice stage, but they will once you are in the match.

Warioman - Hold Z

284DE4B0 FFAF0010
F6000001 80508100
7C7C1B78 7CBD2B78
14000170 38A0002D
E0000000 80008000

Hope this helped! XD

Edit: Oh yes, you also need a deactivator (so you can go normal characters again) same rules apply, hold the deactivator until you are in stage select.

Deactivate - Hold A

284DE4B0 FEFF0100
F6000001 80508100
7C7C1B78 7CBD2B78
14000170 7FE5FB78
E0000000 80008000

If there are any more problems, please notify me, as I don't use Riivolution. These codes are universal, so they work for NTSC-U or PAL. There could be a few things not allowing you to use this, but some of them I'm only familiar with on Gecko.

Thank you for your quick reply :)
The codes you gave work partly. I can get Warioman or Giga bowser in an online match and the game doesn't crash but there's one problem.
When I select a character and hold R/Z/A I get the character I selected in the practice stage as you said, but when the online match starts, it's pretty random if I get the character I selected, Warioman or Giga bowser.
For example, if I hold Z and choose Luigi I get Luigi in the practice stage and I might get Luigi in the match too even though I held down Z for Warioman. Also sometimes I might get Giga bowser when I'm holding down Z or A.
I did it as you said, I chose a random character, held down Z and pressed start and waited for the stage select screen to appear, then I released it.
I have textures on Brawl but I think that doesn't cause this. I'm using a Gamecube controller plugged into the first gcn port.
I have the same codes on my SD card than I had (above) although I removed Custom CSS with Warioman and Giga bowser and included your three codes.
I think in this case it doesn't matter if I use Gecko or Riivolution. Can you help me? :) Or anyone else can help too if you know how to fix this :D

Thanks for the codes anyways :D

In my part, I too have had some recent difficulty with this code (Warioman/Giga not working after updating codes)

In this case I'm mostly sure it has to do with the riivolution/gecko difference. In Gecko, you can change the "hook type" of the sd card. Changing it to "OSSLEEPTHREAD" was an optional yet beneficial part to the character mod process. I'm not exactly sure of its purpose but I know that the mod seemingly (or used to in my case) worked perfectly.

Also, on the root of your sd card, there may be a file by the name of gameconfig.txt - now that you say it works partially, I'm not sure this is your problem, as I believe this completely halts the usage of the online modifiers. However I cannot think of anything else :(

I suggest you try removing Warioman Fix, Char ID Fix, and the codes in relation to Alloys (you don't want to bother trying to use these online, yet alone basic brawl) The Giga and company doesn't need to be there either - it could be deciding for you, for all you know. I don't use the whole offline portion (the fixes and css additions) for online modding, so maybe you should try a fresh codeset. Textures aren't your problem though, in case you were worrying. XD

Thanks for the advice :D

You can change hook type with Riivolution too, I changed it to OSSLEEPTHREAD. I also removed all the other codes but I found out that Warioman Fix is necessary, otherwise the game crashes at the end of the match if you're using Warioman.
However the character I get is still pretty random :( Actually it usually goes the same way. When I'm trying to get Warioman I get him once, but if I try to choose him for the next match too I get Gigabowser and I keep getting Gigabowser even though if I press Z for Warioman before every match. Btw do you have to press Z to get Warioman before every single match or just once and then you automatically get him until you press L or A?

I have no gameconfig.txt on the root of my SD card, however I have a folder called "config" on the root of my SD card and I also have config files for Riivolution.

Oh yes and does it work now fine for you with Gecko? Or do you have the same problem?

No problem =) Ok, that's good. You don't necessarily need Warioman Fix, but it comes in handy XD What I do is I just kill myself at the end of the match (and revert back to regular Wario so it doesn't freeze).

Maybe your problem is the button activators then. I just now thought of this too. The codes I'm using aren't exactly the same, however I'm not PAL XD These codes should be universal though. Anyways, on the first line of the code:

284DE4B0 FFAF0010

I don't use the "FFAF" portion. I also don't know it's purpose either. My code looks like this:

284DE4B0 00000090 <-- That is still the "Z" button activator. What happens is the values for the activators change when the Dpad is not involved. You can have combinations of button activators (Eg: hold z+a for warioman) and if a dpad value is involved, the hex values change. In this case, L was 0040, and now it's 00C0. The hex positions move up 8 values I believe XD However singular dpad activators are also moved up 8 positions, e.g. dpad up is 0088 instead of 0008. But once combined you would take away 8 from hex values. I don't suggest using combos just yet, for the sake of just getting these codes to work XD

Haha I think I just figured it out. I remember having these same problems when I was making these codes up for my own use XD Try these instead, and tell me if they work =)

Giga - L

284DE4B0 000000C0
F6000001 80508100
7C7C1B78 7CBD2B78
14000170 38A0002C
E0000000 80008000

Warioman - Z

284DE4B0 00000090
F6000001 80508100
7C7C1B78 7CBD2B78
14000170 38A0002D
E0000000 80008000

Deactivate - Hold A

284DE4B0 00000180
F6000001 80508100
7C7C1B78 7CBD2B78
14000170 7FE5FB78
E0000000 80008000

With these, try to hold the button needed EVERY time before you start a match. You want to go Warioman one match, hold Z. If you want to go as him again the next match, be sure to hold Z again. Same goes with Giga and Default. My muscle memory at the character select screen always automatically makes me hold Z which is for my deactivator XD

What I seem to have now is actually a different problem I believe. But, I know for sure I had your same problem for awhile. Hope this helps! XD

Ah, these are universal, meaning all regions work ^^ I'm NTSC, and these work for me perfectly fine. Even in Teresa's thread, where she listed similar versions of these codes, they are the same under NTSC and PAL (not quite sure why they are listed twice though if they're the same?)

Bully was the original creator of these codes (not the gamecube activator part though) and he said they were universal. :3

This only works on GCN controller? Link to the topic so I can set it up with the Classic Controller?

You only need to change the first line of the code from the gamecube activator to the classic controller activators.

How are the codes working? ^^

It's still pretty random which character I get :ohwell:
But huge thanks for the codes, otherwise I wouldn't be able to play as Gigabowser or Warioman at all :)
Oh and in the Warioman code, shouldn't the first line be 284DE4B0 FFEF0010 instead of 284DE4B0 FFAF0010?
The codes without the "FEFF" portion don't work at all for me, the codes with the "FEFF" portion work but they are a bit random

Guys, just use this button code activator by Bully. This is way better than the one currently floating around the internet.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5RnICD5E3mc
Actually, that is quite pointless as it takes up a lot more space (code lines: the need to delete gameconfig.txt means you can only have 424? lines of code).

Those codes, do they actually modify characters in the match? If so, then those aren't really different aside from more code space taken up.

Nah man, the code also work on matches, I've tried it. Personally, I prefer Bully's code because you do not need to hold the Z button to deactivate the code, just select any character from the roster you want to play as and that's it. What do you mean about the gameconfig.txt? Do you need to delete it to use the code? If that is the case, I have it in place and I'm using the code at the same time. I think you're right that Bully's code takes up more space than yours, but that doesn't matter as gameconfig.txt almost gives you unlimited lines of code, if I'm not mistaken.

I see haha. My muscle memory automatically makes me hold Z XD

Bully's code works with gameconfig.txt? With the character mods above, you need to delete gameconfig.txt. Having gameconfig allows like 8000 lines of code opposed to 424? lines.

Well, I have gameconfig.txt in the root of my SD card and I'm able to use the code without any issues. And you're right, gameconfig.txt does allow around 8000 lines of code opposed to 424 lines.
