Is is just me or has no one ever thought of that tripping occurs more or less based upon the surface you run?

Really, go run on FD or some other basic map, and then try running on the ice that is found in stage builder, Pokemon Stadium 2, or Ice Climbers.

You can almost feel the character trip at any second when you slide for a long time dashing back and forth.

I haven't seen this mentioned quite a bit, so I thought I would just throw it out there.

Anyone else notice this?

I don't think so.

I'd prefer taht these threads aren't made. It's that logical fallacy where you plant the idea in someone's brain and they start to believe it for no reason. For example, I could say that tripping is related to how heavy your character is. The natural paranoia/human condition will then cause people to believe it to be true.

Let's not plant ideas. Unless you have scientific evidence, you're no better than a religion pusher.

FYI, I don't have the chance right now to test your theory.

It has been tested. I don't remember, but someone did a test on this a long time ago (before U.S. release) and made a thread about it. You trip more often on ice.

First of all, it would seem that this would be a random theory, but it really isn't. Ice on stages do seem to increase the number of trips.
Mostly an observance on my part, but my idea seems to be obvious for most people that posted in this thread.

The value of this thread is to not state the obvious, but to develop the theory that tripping might not be fully random, but might consist of a number of variables.

Then test it. Dash back and forth on an icy stage of 5 blocks (from stage builder, obviously), and do the same on a normal stage of the same length. Time, say, 10 minutes for both, and count the trips.
There, proof.
