Trade Staraptor for what?

Ok i just got a luiga from a friend for free (Thx danno) And now since he's flying i can use him for fly. I did have a Staraptor who was a pretty good pkmn for my party that used fly. Well now im taking him out for lugia and now im at the world trade center thing and im wondering what i should offer for him that would be fair. Any ideas?

he can teach him fly if ur using him to get around, if your battling with him your wasting one of the best tank pkmn ever

but there are plenty of other pokes he could use to get around... why waste lugia?
