After the last TP having really ****in gay commentary for the most part (with exceptions from kira and noobking from what ive heard. **** you guys and your math though), I talked to GC Guy and I'll be helping him in forming the official TP4 commentary team for Melee.
I really doubt all of this will end up happening, but lets at least decide on 6 concrete commentators who we will 100% like to hear.
My goal here is numbers for TourneyPlay to be able to use to further increase numbers and add more money to the table. So if I seem a bit excessive with my elaboration of methods, just take it more as guidelines. Basically I'm really ****ing adamant about the vid side of tourneyplay4 not ****ing up.
So as far as Melee commentary goes, this is tentatively how I'd like to form things.
I want 4 or 5 people who can acknowledge that there needs to be a balance in the serious play-by-play/completely inattentive babble about nothing spectrum, as well as 1 or 2 joke fodder *****es who the other commentators can clown on (kline?) whenever they try to be clever in between matches.
*There will be 6 people officially on the team, and they pretty much run the booth as they see fit when they're on the job. There should be an active team of at least 2, but no more than 3 at a time, excluding any "guests" you want to bring in for a bit.
Active team runs the booth. You can invite guest commentators, swap out with whoever (make sure everyone else on the active team approves). Basically decide amongst yourselves who will have the majority of the duty during what time period. If you need a break, swap out. If you have a tournament match, swap out. But please just make sure not to overload the booth with people. Excessive chatter clogging the mic with noise could make people exit the stream.
*There are to be no more than 3 people in the commentary booth without consent of the majority of the active commentary team. But please be wise about who you let back there, and don't be afraid to kick anyone out or say no. Dr.Mario12 will need to go back there frequently to run the livestream itself, so keep that in mind.
*One of the active booth team needs to keep at least a semi-attentive eye on the livestream chat. ONLY boot people who are being spammy. Raw numbers are VERY important in attracting sponsors, so high numbers in the feed data will help aid that cause.
*Do NOT get caught up completely in the livestream chat and ignore the match. You are a commentator. Not a sissywagon *****fart. This happened on several occasions at TP3, though I'm sure people were tired.
*If you need liquor, weed, or energy drinks, and aren't noobking, ask me and I'll see what I can do. Just try to refrain from being too profane/blatant about it in the case of anyone official or nubile is watching. As long as you keep the livestream interesting and keep pulling people in, I don't care how you do it, and I won't beat your *** (vicariously through noobking and/or kage)
I nominate Noobking as an official commentator.
Thoughts anyone?
