Hello fellow Smashers,

I'm working on a Smash guide of sorts for Android, sort of like SmashPad. Since Praxis doesn't seem to be working on an Android version of his app, I want to fill the void for all the Android-using Smashers out there.

That said, I'm starting some requirements gathering, and I want to know what would be useful for competitors, or even commentators, to have in an app.

As the title asks: what sort of information would be helpful to have on hand at a tournament? I should specify that I am focusing on supporting Smash 4 at first, with other Smash games to follow.

Here's what I'm thinking so far, and maybe you all can elaborate with your own ideas:
  • CM Smash was apparently very useful at EVO, so for sure have up-to-date info on customs
  • Player rankings with used characters
  • Character breakdowns, matchups, and strats (maybe relevant youtube content?)
  • Tourney ladder info
  • Tourney event info, including directions, event timing, maybe reminders for the event
I honestly think that would be plenty to keep me busy at first, but please add your own ideas too. Thanks in advance to everyone who contributes!

Auto-Coin flip. Settles any disagreements, like character pallet or port issues or which side of the screen someone sits at.

A way to easily access each characters' boards on Smashboards. I don't think it'd be feasible to try to keep up with everything going on in each board and each characters' meta and update the app.

But providing an easy way to get to say, Luigi's board when I want to look up his dthrow -> upB kill percents or something would be really useful.

What do you mean that I'm not working on an Android version of SmashPad?

There will definitely be an Android version.
