Tournament Organizer Handbook Project
Juggleguy, Jam Stunna, Scar, and I are spearheading a great project to create an official handbook for tournament organizers! In the past, information on how to run an event has been dispersed between numerous stickies, discussion threads, and blog posts. The goal of this project is to bring all the information together and then some--if we hope to improve as a community, then naturally improving the quality of tournaments would be a large step forward.
We would like this to be a collaborative project; a community of T.O.s working together to create a product that will help current and future organizers. If you would like to help with the project we are taking applications. We are willing to accept anyone who would like to help. The application is simply there for us to get an idea of your strengths and what area to best have you work on.
In the application, please include your screen name, what region you are from, how many tournaments you have hosted, any topics on tournament discussion, and a tournament you hosted that best represents your skills. Below is a rough draft of the handbook’s table of contents and topics that will be discussed. Naturally, this is open for discussion. If you happen to see an area that interests you, feel free to mention that in the application.
“But Metalmonstar, I am not a T.O. and I want to help!” If you have skills as a writer, we would very much appreciate your help with organizing, writing, and editing the material. We also need graphic designers and artists so that the handbook is visually appealing, as well as informative. We could use help in data mining and getting permission to use pieces of information, too. Finally, we also need help in getting the word out there on what we are doing.
Still don’t see anything that fits you? Feel free to apply as a general applicant. Any and all help is greatly appreciated for the project!
Please either message me with your application or email me at metalmonstar-lv100@juno.com
