Now before anyone goes further into this thread, one question some might ask is "what are tool-assisted (TAS) and real-time (RTS) speedruns?". Well, there are two major differences between the two as follows:

Tool-Assisted Speedrun: The game is played on an emulator, using save states, slow downs, and playing the game one frame at a time in order to finish it with as much perfection in as little time as possible. These speedruns are not used to show skill; they are used for entertainment purposes, and to show off what is actually possible within the game's limits. Consider it an art form, though many still have competitions as to who can have the fastest possible play time within a TAS anyway.

Real-Time Speedruns: The game is played on an actual console with a valid controller. No tools or programs are used to alter gameplay in any kind of way, and the player uses only their dexterity and skill to finish the game in as fast a time as humanly possible, even exploiting glitches in order to do so. Used for entertainment, but also used to show off the player's actual skill.

The idea of this thread is to post video links (preferably YouTube) of any TAS/RTS speedruns of any game you can find; namely, games you enjoyed and wanted to see how fast they can be beasted through in a TAS/RTS. With that, I will start off with one TAS video of a game that is arguably one of the most popular games to TAS, Super Metroid, and an RTS of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

Be aware, that some of these videos can range between 5 minutes (Super Mario Bros.), to even 8 hours (Final Fantasy VIII), so be very mindful of your bandwidth. Here are two videos to get this thread started:

TAS - Super Metroid (0:43:20)
RTS - The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (4:00:53)

Ndayday - RTS - New Super Mario Bros. U (Stoneslide Tower)(0:00:41)
-LzR- - TAS - Metal Gear Solid (1:33:16)
-LzR- - TAS - Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage! (0:30:19)

Werekill - RTS - The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (0:32:53)
Claire Diviner - RTS - Mario Kart Wii (1:22:20)[/collapse]

Here's a TAS of a game I'm sure many here on Smashboards are familiar with. I found it rather entertaining.

TAS - Cave Story (0:54:54)

EDIT: I'm going to post a list of all TAS videos in the OP, to save people the trouble of trying to look through pages (assuming this thread picks up enough in popularity, I guess?).

OP updated.

Also, here's a TAS I posted in another thread some months ago or so (I forgot when, to be honest). A TAS of Mortal Kombat 2 on the SNES. Note that this video does not aim for speed, but rather aims to show all of the lulzy glitches one can do in the game. For those MK2 fans, this video is really entertaining and fun to watch.

TAS - Mortal Kombat 2 (0:27:01)
