March 15th, 2016
Tomblin Bros. Smash Bash @ Letitia Avenue
Double Elimination

The weather is warming up, the birds are chirping, and the Tomblin bros. are back at it again with their Smash bashes! Let's start off our series of 2016 TBSB with a bang, shall we? That means we'll also be featuring a Retrofest, so expect to see Street Fighter 2 Turbo, Samurai Showdown, Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, Virtua Fighter 2, Fighting Vipers, Dead or Alive 2, Marvel vs. Capcom 1/2, and Killer Instinct alongside your usual games of Melee, Brawl, Project M, and more! For more information, check out our Facebook page. Feel free to ask either of the Tomblin brothers about anything else.
Have none of the listed games above grabbed your attention yet? If you aren't interested in poker but maybe some League of Legends, you are free to bring your computer and/or laptop set-up and come play.

The SSBM tournament entry fee is $5, and friendlies and spectators are free.

Event Schedule:
  • Friendlies & Sign-ups: 3:00PM
  • Super Smash Bros. Melee Tournament: 6:00PM
  • Other events (Crew Battles, Doubles, Project M, Rivals of Aether, etc..): 9:00PM
What else?
  • This is an outdoor event in a carport, so please bring a jacket, water, or whatever else will suit your needs. This event will also permit those who are 21 years old and up to bring alcohol. If you are below 21, do not bring alcohol. Alcohol will not be given to anyone under 21 either. With that said, you must bring your own beverages.
  • All participants are encouraged to bring full Melee set-ups, including CRT televisions, game disc(s), consoles, folding tables, and chairs. It would be wise to bring additional extension cords.
  • As for PC games, laptops are welcome, but we won't be able to accommodate full desktop set-ups unless you are able to supply yourself with a table.
  • You must bring your own controllers.
  • If you need to, please bring your own food and drinks. The Tomblin brothers won't able to supply you with much, if anything.
  • Be courteous towards other players and have fun!
  • We will in fact have a TV that will be streamed live on Twitch. This event will later be updated to supply potential viewers with a link to the stream and to the Challonge brackets.
Prizes:
  • 1st place: 60% of money pot
  • 2nd place: 30% of money pot
  • 3rd place: 10% of money pot
Tourney Rules & Stages:
  • 4 stocks, 8 minutes, no items.
  • Starter stages: Battlefield, Dream Land, Final Destination, Fountain of Dreams, & Yoshi's Story.
  • Counterpick stage: Pokémon Stadium.
  • First stage is decided by banning from the Starter Stages in P1-P2-P2-P1 order.
  • The winning player is not locked into the same character for the next match, but they must pick before the loser selects a character.
  • The following stages are decided by the winner banning one stage from all stages and then the loser chooses.
  • For any matches that are best out of five, there aren't any stage bans.
  • You may not choose a stage that you've already won on unless mutually agreed to.
  • Gentlemen's Clause is allowed; any stage may be played if both players agree.
