:psycho:Recently Ive been playing against marths alot, and Ive had some trouble with their fairs and their dancing blade combos. Any help on how I can get in range from the fairs?

you must be doing something wrong if you are getting owned by fairs.

It would be very hard for marth to outspace your fair with his. Furthermore, you have the advantage on the ground. Your tilts and grabs out range. Marth simply can't play a ranged game with metaknight. This match up is in your favor. Don't let him get aggressive. You want him to try and camp you, so that way you can dictate the spacing. If you let him get his tech chases going, then he WILL out space you.

Yeah. Ive noticed my fair does have some significant range. I am an agressive Mk player and I chase my opponents away from the stage and gimp them. I tipically use nair and dair to gimp, but marths fair could give me trouble cause I have to get close. any suggestions? thats the only significant threat marths pose for me as of now

Those work well for me on the ground, and also the nair sometimes. But what about is, I knock marth away, I chase ready to gimp, I get close to attack and he uses his fair. those knock me away and gives marth recovery. Shuttle loop works wonders, but Im not that accurate with it :/

Going aggresive with metaknight isn't the best option. You can't just go running into people pressing buttons. This doesn't work against somone good that knows what they're doing against metaknight. If you are over aggressive with aerials, you have no chance of winning the spacing war. Stay ground and use your tilts and grab range, then follow up with aggressive aerial pursuit. Moving backwards while fairing is a good trick too.

So, moderate agressiveness? cause I chase my opponent alot and this has given me lots of control in previous fights. do I have to be chill on the ground and aggresive in the air? or can I do both?

yeah, cause I have three priorities in my Mk game, aggressive, gimp, and know when to defend. and marth outranges Mk, and when Im in a marths face, I combo them and gimp to get kos. Standing and waiting to counter does work for me sometimes, but being agressive is a BIG part of my game. how do I balance it out?
