Ok so i've been playing falco awhile now and i can get the double shine w/o leaving the ground consistently when im not hitting anything, however when i try to double shine on hit or on shield falco doesn't even jump cancel his first shine. Can someone help me out with the timing on this? is it fast or slower than doing it w/o hitting anything?

hitting something puts both things in hitlag/freeze, delaying your timing a few frames

practice against the wall on Shadow moses (the snake stage)

It is slightly slower. The wall will break eventually, though. Try it on a heavy character with a handicap of 9, with your handicap on 1, and 0.5 damage.
