I just succesfully installed a modchip on my wii

and I accidentally broke a clamp for the ribbon cable connecting the disc drive
I then tried to super glue it and the glue ran onto the connecting part of the cable and now nothing reads

I just wasted about 350 dollars on the wii and modding equipment / chip

Needless to say im pretty pissed

its like you do the most risky **** ever just attempting to solder the chip which can **** up ur wii completely and you do everything right then something as stupid as super glue or a 1 mm clamp that basically is essential to the wii destroys it completely.

that ****in 1 mm clamp just caused me 300 dollars

A 300 DOLLAR CLAMP!!

Moral of the story-
**** NINTENDO AND THEIR 300 DOLLAR CLAMPS

also .........i dont reccomend anyone mod their wii unless they really know what the risks are.

yeah, I ****ed up my PS1 trying to mod it too. Luckily at the time PS2 was right around the corner and the backwards capability made it not a big deal. With PS2, I use a swap disk method so the only modification I had to do was remove the disk tray cover. I'll never try another internal mod again. Unless of course someone else was willing and able.

A friend of mine and I opened up my Xbox (original) and installed a second HD to it. IMO it's safer than the mod chip set. However, I don't know the real extra benefits you could get from a HD than from a chip. My HD has like........ a gazzilion Halo mods on it, plus nearly 4,000 ROMS for systems that we all love, and for systems some of us may never have heard about lol. Plus, I love what the HD did to the dashboard.... I can select tons of backgrounds from montages that I DL to it, to porn, to badass designs, to just weird stuff. ^.^

On topic: I am sooooo sorry that happened to you. The ****ing little clips need to be made sturdier. :(
