Not sure, I'm not even watching any Sm4sh streams at the moment. It's true though; every time Sm4sh got a spot on a Salty Suite, it wound up getting cancelled for one reason or another. I think they did have a crew battle for the game at EVO though, but that was it.

I'm not entirely sure really. For a couple of months now I've been playing around with in an attempt to find a second character to main alongside but am still uncertain what to do....

But hey if you got tips I might as well hear 'em

Spoiler: Walll of text

So as you already know, Rosaina and Luma are a puppet character that are fairly high on the tier list and has a high learning curve

Rosa is a zoner and can zone out with Luma, dtilt jab 1 2, and ftilt

All of her moves can be viable in some sort of way


Jab: This is an incredible move. You can:

pressure with jab 1 2 and that can lead into a dash grab

multijab to get extra percent and to just burn a couple seconds to get Luma back

or you can do the gentlemen which can kill at high percents


Dtilt: A great zoning/poke tool, especially with the trajectory it sends. It has pretty good frame data too. I really recommend using this move often


Utilt: This can combo from an uthrow at 0% for a nice ~19% if the opponent doesn't DI away. Also Rosa's has an amazing disjoint. Luma's is overrated imo. People posts gifs of Luma killing at 0% saying "NERF PLS SAKURAI" when in reality your probably never going to use this move as your first kill option tbh. Luma's utilt can be used when you got you shield broken/being grabbed for a kill though


Ftilt: This can be used for reads if you didn't want to stale your fsmash. You usually want to sub this instead of fsmash. It's faster, and can get potential follow ups


Dsmash: Usually used for a quick poke, sandwiching foes or for some Luma shenanigans. Not really used for killing


Usmash: Her best killing smash(? Not really certain on this tbh lol) This move isn't safe so don't go spamming it lol. it hits in front, and a little bit above and behind her. Luma's has stupid range to it so you can go and lab that if you want to


Fsmash: Probably her most ranged smash attack. This move isn't safe so don't go spamming it like usmash. You can also angle it up or down for whatever the situation asks for.

Nair:

Luma's nair can be used for killing, set up some Luma combos especially the first hit, interrupt attacks because it's frame 3 for like, no ****ing reason at all

Rosa's nair has a hit box active for around 2 seconds(?), she's got almost no landing lag from this move so you can try and connect the first part of her nair to Luma's nair to a follow up.

Fair: This move is decent I guess. Kind of overrated sometimes. Has alot of landing lag and really just a combo finisher imo. The final hit has alot of knockback so it can be used for edgeguarding but you gotta know how to use your recovery or else you won't make it back because she's got almost a second of lag. Luma's fair can also be used for lunar landing fun.

Bair: Rosa's bair is pretty good, does decent damage but the real kicker here is Luma's. Luma's bair has alot of knockback growth so that's the reason why it kills tbh. And the range is great.

Uair: This move can kill extremely early if the opponent doesn't what they're doing lol. Usually it's Luma's uair kicking it to Rosa's uair which makes it kill. And also Luma's is pretty strong too. And it's frame 3.

Dair: This move is... well imo kind of meh. There's alot of landing lag, Luma's is really strong but that's really it. You have 1 frame to lunar land it or else you'll have to get that landing lag. The spike is when the halo is coming down, not at the beginning of the move.


Luma shot: Your main way of desynching Luma. Can kill but usually people aren't stupid enough to fall for it


Star bits: A projectile that Luma shoots out. This move is really interesting so I recommend labbing with it to see what you can do with it. Usually a poke I guess.

Gravitational pull: This move can pull in projectiles and can be usefuul because of it's HUGE vacuum and usually Luma's in front of you so if you use down b Luma won't get hit by the projectile and he'll survive longer

Up B ( I forgot what it's called lol): This move is very important to know. If you don't know how to use this move your Rosa will just become mediocre because her offstage play is great.

Misc. Notes~


Boost grabs can help you desynch Luma if you don't want Rosa to move so you'll have the best positioning

Luma's desynch jab is pretty interesting so I'll recommend labbing that too
