I saw that picture at first and was like that's totally photoshopped, but they actually did all that. I'm surprised they let them do all that stuff really....

Ugh...Only freshman year, and I'm already getting a headache from this whole declaring a major/minor stuff.
Are specific classes usually required to have already been taken before you declare a minor, or can you just declare it alongside a major? Because I'm really confused right now.

In most places a minor isn't required.

For example I'm majoring in Computer Science and at no point have I been told that I need a minor.

That is assuming you're asking if minors are necessary, I have no idea if you actually want to minor in something or not.

If you do want to minor in something then I believe it may depend on what minor it is you want to take, although given that minors aren't nearly as credit-hour heavy as majors I want to say you may not have to take any prerequisite courses, it all depends on how your college/university runs things.

For example at my school I declared majoring in Computer Science before Day 1 of my Freshman year, but then I had to apply to the major in addition to taking some prerequisite courses to be eligible to be accepted into the major.
