Ok some people claim to be smarteror to know more right. lets say everything they know put together is more than your knowledge with everything put together. they know twice as much BUT lack any way of using it so their knowledge is worthless compared to your lets say you know how curve things you sell curving and put your knowledge to use does this mean you are smarter?

or simply wiser? or still less than than the other guy who boost about his knowledge.


Again maybe the man who knows more knows more because he plays video games can you still say he is smarter? if not lets compare him to someone who is very wise and tells others advice but is never thanked or anything, if the man who plays video games gets a job as a video game tester because he knows how to perfectly do a quarter circle kick and knows everything shinly in video games is very important and is clearly doing more with his limited knowledge than the wise man who is smarter/wiser? the wise man has no use of his knowledge other than for himself to think someone with less uses it to get payed.

I guess to put it in a nutshell. Someone who knows more stuff would be more knowledgeable. But that doesn't necessarily make that person more useful or resourceful than someone who has a more limited knowledge base. In that respect, looking at your examples, the person who knows more is more knowledgeable while the person who does not know quite as much, but makes a use for what they do know is more useful and resourceful.

its not about what you, its about what you can do with what you know. thats what true smarts is.
You can be intelligent and a great thinker, but if you're 50 and live with your parents, but have an IQ of 2990324329293, does that IQ score even matter? you can look at it like this. One person them is making use of what they've been given (the not genius) and then the genius is wasting their life away in their parents basement. who is really being smarter?

In this case, the not genius is being smarter. And I think that he will become more genius than the other person sometime in the future because he keeps his mind working. Therefore, he may be more capable to learn stuff. It is a cycle: he learns, makes good use of his knowledge, learns more, and continue making good use of it.

However, then it really comes down to a debate on if processing power or information is more important to being intelligent. In theory, anyone can learn anything given enough time, which can take away from the merit of a huge knowledge base. On the other hand, the ability to process information with nothing to process is nearly worthless.

The difference between individuals in terms of knowledge would be the skills acquired in certain situations or experiences, ability to present an understanding of a subject, and the cognitive process of that individual ( reasoning, perception, etc). There is no definitive definition of knowledge. If two people has the same understanding and familiarity in their own respective subjects ( One is a physician and the other is a lawyer), how can you say the physician is smarter than the lawyer. Or vice versa. I feel that there are too many factors to properly determine the knowledge of an individual compared to another individual.

Knowledge is power, power is only as good or bad or useful as the person who has it uses it. Also, try and keep in mind that smart and stupid are completely subjective, fictional terms created by human beings.

Note that your IQ never increases. If you take two legitimate, identical IQ tests 30 years apart, you'll get exactly the same score, regardless of how much you've learned in those 30 years.

You need to give some kind of definition to experience in relation to knowledge if you're gonna argue about who's smarter in a certain situation. Obviously there's a certain amount of overlap between the two, but there's still some characteristic differences.

Actually, IQ scores are actually the results of a test/your age, hence the name "intelligence quotient", so there would be a difference if you take 2 IQ tests 30 years apart.

Well, actually it should be representative for the age of children, so actually stay the same in that respect.

However, IQ can slowly change over time. If people engage their brain in complex problems on a regular basis, it is only natural it will get better at it over time.

Use of knowledge seems more important however saying someone uses the same amount but knows less when someone knows more uses the same amount, does it really matter if one knows more?

saying people are smart/dumb is the same as many other ways of detailing a person it can vary beyond what we would understand so meaning we wouldn't know what we are saying and are beyond lost mistaking things for other things because as a people our knowledge isn't enough to even understand it's self.

This is gonna be stupid, so brace yourselves.

Smartness is like making a delicious cake.

IQ is like a cup. Knowledge is putting things into the cup. Wisdom is mixing everything together properly.

If you have a high IQ, you can potentially add a lot of ingredients to your cake. If you actively seek knowledge, you will come to obtain those ingredients. If you have wisdom, you can stir/layer everything together properly.
