Honestly, I like the 70's through about 2007-2008, but there are still some bands pumping out really good music.

Rock, although alt rock has strayed so very far from being the alt rock of 10-30 years ago (didn't really have a definition to begin with, but sounded much different) that I tend to lean more towards post-grunge these days.
