If you upload recorded videos directly to youtube, without any editing whatsoever, you will get amazing quality. As in youtube can deinterlace videos (not field blending, the real legit deinterlacing) and it looks so smooth.

Also, since youtube now has a 15 minute video limit for free users instead of the old 11 minute limit, it's so much easier to get entire sets into single videos. You might not even need to do any separating at all so you can keep your high quality.

Ehh...it depends.

There are some file formats YouTube likes more than others. Some .avi files start doing crazy shiz on the formatting issues. Mp4 files are generally okay, while .wmv files have on and off results.

Additionally, with the way Youtube takes forever and a half to process videos (if I uploaded a 11 min match, it could take youtube a day to get it in 720p worst case scenario), it's anyone's guess as to how it will show up. Higher quality will show through though, which is a relief.

I say this because I used to work with a Dazzle (and even uploaded with one) for about a year before I switched to the DVR. I also have uploaded in all these formats and then some.

Additionally, using component jacks with the DVR will always beat the Dazzle, hands down. Iirc, it looks like you were using a S-Video cable for the link above, which is definitely better than composite. However, if you're in a pinch, using either one wouldn't be that harmful.

For the love of god though: NO VCR recordings! (I know you heard me Waffles *shakes head*.)
