Black Power!

Sorry, don't mean to offend anyone. Iono if we can compare videogames to the lynching and very cruel, unhumane treatment, and persecution of African-Americans, but there is definitely hate around the Smash community. About 60% of 1v1 no items Brawl vids I've seen on youtube have people in the comments yelling "tourney***s" so tired of them. I don't understand why all the hate. (maybe we are just grumpy b/c we don't have brawl and only way to pass time? iono)

Can't we just all get along?

All that needs to happen to fix the current state of affairs on SWF is for the mods to edit the rules so that any moron who comes here preaching about how Smash is "meant to be played with items" and that "advanced techs are glitches" gets banned outright.

This is first and foremost a competitive Smash community. If you don't believe that Smash is a competitive game series, you don't even belong here.
I know I'm a recently joined member, but just let me say this.

I value competitive play. That said, I don't think any side gets to decide who is right and who is wrong, nobody should be saying that their opinion is the ultimate on how smash should be played, be it casual or pro, no one is Smash God who decides what it is and how it SHOULD or SHOULDN'T be played. Everyone needs to be able to coexist, I think anybody flaming either viewpoint should be modded, not just one way.

I'm inspired to make my own analogy.

ROB in Brawl is like Helen Keller's life as a blind and deaf woman. Helen had to undergo intense scrutiny as a blind and deaf woman, and eventually she was successful despite her shortcomings. ROB is like this because while people disliked him at first, because he has shown himself as a capable fighter and as such people are beginning to understand and appreciate him.

*facepalm*

1st of all... im 17. Just cause I was reminded doesnt mean I had to be there. It reminded me of what I had learned from the civil rights movement.

And for you people who think this is going to far or whatever... calm down. I was just havin some fun... geez...

So, you're comparing intense racial turmoil to a video game? I think both Casuals and Tournament players need to calm the hell down. Really. Everyone has fun a different way.

Wait...
So you're comparing the suffering of black people to bickering over playstyle?
I'm sorry, but do you realize how nonsensical this is? You're basically laying a huge steamer on the entire Civil Rights Movement. Go you.
And as a matter of fact, yes I do believe you should have lived through the era to be reminded of it. Staying awake in your US History class to learn about it != being there.
