I have no clue how to play against Olimar as Yoshi. I can;t seem to beat him. o_o

So someone out of your kind heart will you please help me?! PLEASE!

If he tries to side-b spam you, just do a lot of f and utilts to kill them.

Avoid being grabbed at low percentages, as most Olimar with grab, dthrow you, quick dash to up smash, then uair juggle you to infinite and beyond. <.< and if you are grabbed, just mash that airdodge and DI away from him and hope he doesn't hit you.

Whatever you do, space yourself further then his Fsmash, and just wait to punish him.

Gimp whenever he's off-stage, especially if he has no purple pikmin.

Be wary of using laggy moves due to the SA frames he gets from down-B (meaning if your facing a good olimar, your chances of spiking are pretty low except MAYBE your dair, but your fair is a bad choice unless your facing an olimar who does not abuse those SA frames)

If he ever has a purple pikmin next in line, DO NOT GET ABOVE HIM if your at 100%+ (somewhere around that, maybe 80? lol) as you will get killed.

Whenever his pikmin are desynched, kill them off and don't let him get grounded because he plucks new ones fast. (speaking if your not facing an Unomar or Duomin (1-2 pikmin users like myself)

Avoid using side-B because I do believe he can easily grab you out of that and punish.

Olimar is small and Bair doesn't push through the shield.

EDIT)) Bair to DOWN tilt may work.

I think your'e much better off asking Pride( i've had the pleasure of facing him him a number of times and we're currently tied >_> 2 - 2)

From what I do remember umm let's see:

I don't know if you noticed or not if you Neutral B to D Smash it kills all of our pikmin except purples (and sometimes blue... not alot of blue though). Don't bank on doing this much because we live on our grab game usually, but just a heads up if you do.

Ummm Abuse your retreating Bair and pivot grabs. Your Bair has god like priority over everything we do. It cancels out everything we do on the ground except Up Tilt. Yes Bair cancels out Up Smash. But most olimar's don't use Up tilt so Bair is great for approaching. Oh and Your Pivot grabs work well in this matchup. (Me and Pride never tested which Pivot Grab is Longer but if it's not a Purple I think it's Olimar)
But yeah it keeps us on our toes and if you Up throw we have almost no priority in the Air. So either way your'e going to get some nice damage.

Ummm Throw Eggs. Not saying camp but it's actually a good tactic.

We can juggle for a while until you have enough space to pull out either a Bair or a Dair. They both have great priority and cancel everything of ours out. Especially Uair which we tend to juggle with the most.

I play PRiDE a lot too and that's where I get my Yoshi play from.
Upair goes through if you hit closer to yoshi's head. We can SA through him to us doing nair or w/e we want.

Throw eggs like pride off of the ledge works against most olimars.

Ah I see, yeah Pride isn't on as much as he used to be though. But yeah the ETS should work nicely, and bair with the guy I'm asking this about doesn't seem to work. He sidesteps and grabs. But I think with a little practice it can work for me.

Do the Bair to ftilt or dtilt. That should work.
Try nairs to jab too.
