actually were are NOT getting ne more third party characters, sakuari said there would be 1-2 slots for third party, wer'e lucky we got sonic
He said there will be 2-3 third party characters not including Snake.

Capcom would be tops IMO.

Capcom has been supporting Nintendo alot lately,(Okami, Monster Hunter 3,both of which are comming to the Wii and the RE series,)
And they helped produce the GB Hand held Zelda games.

Can't argue that Capcom isn't the most likely, followed by Namco and Ubisoft (as has been said a million times over). Capcom's is a no-brainer, Megaman. Namco is vaguely iffy. People seem to think Pac-man, Soul Calibur, or "Tales of", but the later two don't really seem to have a "main mascoty character". Personally, I'm really hoping that they'll include Klonoa (which would be a great fit), and then make Pac-man into an assist trophy (because in all honestly, Pac-man I would LOVE to see as an assist, but definitely not playable). Oh, yeah, and Ubisoft would be Rayman.

And as someone mentioned before, it sounded like the whole "2-3 companies" thing was tentative, so who knows? If another company REALLY wanted a character in Brawl for the ton of publicity that would generate, then perhaps Nintendo would indeed allow it.

Do I need to bring out the game list regarding nintendo consoles and Square Enix published games?

It's like saying Konami shouldn't be considered because some castlevania games were under Sony. Or Namco because Klonoa is on Sony as well. It's quite natural for companies to go multi-platform, hence why they are 3rd party.
But most of Square's biggest hits are on Sony consoles. Their less than stellar games are on Nintendo consoles.

It's obvious that Square still favors Sony over Nintendo therefore, doesn't deserve a character. Or at least a non SNES Square character

Personally I hope for Ubisoft and Rayman, Ubisoft's been friendly to Ninty recently.
Yeah Rayman would by fine.... furthermore I would prefer tails to sonic...
and "nightmare" from Soul Calibur would be a nice surprise, too :)

I see......
Final Smash: she breaks out a mic and sings.

Side B would probably be silicon suffocate..... more ew...

But on topic, Capcom is without a shadow of a doubt the front runner. To be totally honest, I will be surprised if Mega Man is not in Brawl.

Other than that, no one is really even close. Ubisoft has had several popular Nintendo releases, but nothing they have done has been "huge."

Namco would probably be (distantly) behind Capcom, but I really don't know what character would represent them and really fit in Brawl. Certainly not Pac Man, although Sakurai is very creative... he could probably pull it off.

Square is a huge no. All they really have behind them is Final Fantasy, which used to be exclusive to Nintendo. They later made it exclusive to Sony. The only possible advantage Square has is Mario RPG, and I don't think it's enough to get them a character. Geno would be pretty cool, but I don't think it would happen.

Only Capcom, Hudson Soft and possibly Square have a chance.

Capcom - Has supported Nintendo since the NES days. Abandoned Nintendo on the N64 for the most part. Has patched things up recently. Has developed Zelda games for Nintendo.
Possible Reps: Megaman, Ryu, Leon Kennedy

Hudson - Has supported Nintendo since the NES days. Never abandoned Nintendo. Developed all the Mario Party games. Bomberman has appeared with Wario in a game. Has its TurboGrafx games on the VC.
Possible Reps: Bomberman, Bonk(lol)

Square - Supported Nintendo on the NES and SNES. Completely abandoned Nintendo on the N64. Worked on Mario Hoops(lol). Recently has been making FF games on Nintendo systems, although mostly handheld.
Possible Reps: Black Mage, Chocobo, Sora(lol)

Square Enix also has Dragon Quest which originated on the NES...people just seem to neglect this entire series even though it is the most popular RPG series in Japan.

But honestly, I think the highest chance is capcom, just like everyone else does. Mega Man just seems like a no brainer to have in.

Square-Enix holds no special place with Nintendo anymore. Rare abandoned Nintendo as well.

Not really. Nintendo abandoned Rare if anything, they were sold to Microsoft. That made them second party if I am not mistaken.

Ubisoft and Square are both on extremely good terms with Nintendo, but Capcom really isn't Sorry Megaman fans, but Capcom's screwed over Nintendo too many times in the past. They still make games for them, but after the Capcom 5 for GameCube, and making almost all their franchises multi-platform but not releasing them on Nintendo systems makes it not look good.

well sonic is in and I can't imagine sega and nintendo being too friendly with each other (what with sonic the hedgehog being on xbox 360 and wii owners getting pwned in the face with sonic and the secret rings)

Capcom is probably more deserving but some FF characters could be really awesome, Chocobo and Mog for Brawl anyone?

I don't know about 'screwing over', but the beginning portion is right on the dot to me.

Nintendo has the the Megaman EXE. series exclusively to Nintendo, about everything else is shared and nothing exclusive on any other console that I know of. I am saddened that they haven't announced any news on making Resident Evil 5 on the Wii though, plus they basically ***** slapped them when t hey ported RE4 with extra features onto the PS2 after they had announced it's exclusivity on the Gamecube.

But they're professional adults here, and they understand that everyone has to look out for themselves, so unless it hurts the company by blackballing them, there shouldn't be any bad blood brewing between them.

It's not like Capcom is dissing Nintendo, especially compared to how Mistwalker talks so much crap about Sony.

It's just about who's in the inner circle, and the big hitters that I think Nintendo has are Capcom, Konami, Namco, Sega, and Square-Enix. There are others like Atlus, but I don't think they've gained enough rep like the other companies I mentioned.

i agree with the allready named ones ^^ but like some others said add Hudson Soft to these. Of course they are not that big at the Moment, but they put many games on Nintendo Systems and almost everyone was exklusive. Their Mascot Bomberman would fit in Smash too...

Lesse here:

Capcom: This one is the most popular one so I guess it has a solid shot.
Character of choice: Mega Man

Square/Enix: People keep differing on Square's situation with Nintendo so I'll give them all the benefit of the doubt. I feel there's going to be something Square-related in the game. We'll see.
Character of choice: Crono or Geno

Treasure: This one is already in the game via a Sin & Punishment AT (why do people keep forgetting that?), so I'll say there a very good chance of a playable Treasure character.
Character of choice: Marina

Namco: I suppose it's possible but I think it's a longshot. It'll be fun to see Pac-Man but he'll have to be tweaked heavily to fit Brawl.
Character of choice: Pac-Man

Ubisoft: I don't see it. It could work, but Rayman hasn't been in a Nintendo console much to be included in the game (I believe only Great Escape was released on the N64)
Character of choice: Rayman

Rare: They were sold to Microsoft so I doubt it, I definitely support their inclusion, though.
Character of choice: Banjo and Kazooie

Hudson: A longshot, but I suppose it's possible. I don't Bomberman as a playable though, mainly because of his limited moveset. I think a better choice would be...
Character of choice: Master Higgins
