Third party characters having items?

Snake and Sonic = third party characters in the game.
Snake's stage = third party stages in the game.

But will there be items/AT's based on the worlds of Metal Gear and Sonic the Hedgehog?

I'm not sure about ATs, but an item from MGS seems likely.

Hmm. It would follow that if a character in the game has a stage, they'll probably have an item too. In the last game I think every character (except for C. Falcon) had an item from their series.

As funny as this sounds, I could imagine 3rd party assist trophies way before 3rd party items. I don't know why...

I'll need to think up a list of possible items and trophies then compare the two.

I could see Otacon's camo device replacing the cloaking device (it does the same thing). FOXHOUND members would be great Assist Trophies.

The Fire Shield from Sonic could be fun, but I think we already have enough fire items.

We know that anyone who has a stage has his own "special" crates. We've all ready seen the techy MSG ones. But I'm looking forward to some sonic style TV screens.

If Sonic get any Assist trophy I am sure its going to be Tails and Knuckles, an item could be one of those TV monitor and the effect would be random(If you get 1 or 10 rings its give you back the same ammount of health if you get robotnik you get hurt).

Fire Emblem didn't have an item in Melee....neither did G&W, or Falcon (mentioned above).... So they don't "need" to have an item...

Since F-Zero does have an assist trophy in Brawl, this could mean more for every game they forgot.

The reason they didn't give the characters like Mr. G&W and Marth items was, because they didn't want to spoil the surprise when you unlocked them. You would have known in advance if you saw an item from one of their games. I know you could just look at the list of companies on the box or go on the internet, but I'm pretty sure that that is the reason those franchise's didn't get items. I wouldn't expect an item from any character whose franchise is not repped right from the start and we are almost certain that the 3rd party characters are not going to be starters.

No, and most likely he's not going to be an AT

If I remember correctly, Ice Climbers also had no item.

And no, Mr. Freezie isn't an ice climbers item.
