Think of a Final Smash for Mario that isn't already an item

Let's settle once and for all if Mario indeed has a Final Smash option that isn't already an item. We know that Mega Mario, Invincible Mario, and Metal Mario are all out as they're items.

And please give preference to the main series (not that spinoffs will be totally discounted).

Fire mario? I remember that used to be his final smash in SSF2. It was a timed final smash (like charizard or lucario) that was very versatile and fun to use. It changed all his special moves.


Up special: combination of the explosive punch and super jump custom moves (high jump + explosion)

Down special: in SSF2 it was still the Mario tornado, but in smash 4 it could be a combination of scalding and high pressure fludd (long reach + flames)

Side special: fire cape. It'd work like the gusty and shocking cape but it would shoot flames and would have the range + recovery aid of gusty cape (long reach + flames + small recovery boost)

Neutral special: Mario finale. His standard final smash but instead of just pressing b, you'd have to charge it for a few seconds and once used your final smash would end.

Rainbow Mario would work well IMO. Sure, it would be really close to the Super Star (and Sonic's Final Smash), but leaving a rainbow trail to kill enemies would be fabulous.

Ultra Flame from Legend of the Seven Stars. Pretty much a cluster**** of large Fireballs that hits everybody on screen. Almost like the Three Sacred Treasures, except they can KO.

Rainbow Mario would work well IMO. Sure, it would be really close to the Super Star (and Sonic's Final Smash), but leaving a rainbow trail to kill enemies would be fabulous.

But that's already Invincible Mario, though. The only reason the invincibility star was changed in Galaxy was because the Power Stars already look like the normal invincibility stars.

lol, this idea would be horrible, but what about the double Cherry spawning multiple copies of Mario on the screen? They would all be identical, and the last Mario on the screen would be the real one, just like in 3D world.

Wouldn't it be fun to wombo combo people using multiple copies of yourself? XD

On a more legitimate note, I think a way to sidestep the mega mushroom thing is to have a GIANT sized 8 Bit Mario sprite as a final smash instead, complete with all the 8 Bit noises.
You still get Mega Mario size, but it's a throwback to the past rather than shameless stealing of the super mushroom powerup.
