Clones are not surprising at this point, nor do they bother me(I have been in a lot of Marth Vs Roy 1v1s)but is it a crime to simply expect a character to be more than that? That aside, Sakurai's actual reasoning eludes me at the moment.

I think with Lucina specifically he said she was going to be a costume but without the tippers. Add that to the different voice and he just felt weird not making her her own slot.

Why the hell are people still argueing about Lucina,Dark Pit and Doctor Mario's inclusion in the game?

To prevent the horror that is the inclusion of Lucina and Roy in another Smash game.

I can see where he "felt weird". I probably can translate that as something that doesn't fit for a character alt when they're mainly color alts or gender swaps. Either way, thanks for clearing that up.

Im happy corrin got into smash. I even voted for the fool in the smash ballot. And I don't even like fire emblem!

Smash is basically, Mario, LoZ, Kirby, Star fox, DK, Pokemon, FE, EarthBound, Kid Icarus, with a few niche games like F-zero, pikmin, AC, and few others VS Capcom, Sega, Namco, Square Enix, and Platinum.

FE is getting bigger and growing to this day. It's the one series that has the possibility to join the ranks of Starfox, Donkey Kong, etc.

Simply put, a character needs to play exactly the same to be an alt. If they have a minute difference, they get separated. That's his philosophy. Works well to me, honestly. I'd rather have more than less.
