I say 4 in total (including Sonic and Snake) is fine, that way you can have a full 4 way free-for-all (or team battle) with nothing but 3rd party characters. Bomberman and Megaman are fine choices for the next 2 third party characters (if they make it)

and why does everyone say Geno is 3rd party? In all honesty, I think he's nintendo...I've heard from various sources saying he's from nintendo

seriously if sakurai couldnt create a moveset for saki what makes you think he can do it for some1 as boring as pacman >.<

Just by the number of charecters released and other details i strongly feal that we are getiting only 3 3rd partys.
