Whenever you ask for help in the hakcing community, if it is something minor, then you are sometimes almost garuanteed to get help. Even if the said helper only posts once. However, ask for something like how to polygon swaps and the like, and the radar goes blank faster than an F-117 Nighthawk can do it.

It is angering to say the least.

For example, I have a project-in-progress for Falco. This project will change Falco's entire image into something else. Something iconic to us Westerners from the East: the Samurai.

However, to do this I need to replace a few things, namely his reflector and blaster with Kusagari Link's sword and sheathe. I know how to export things with BrawlBox, that parts the easiest **** thing in the world. Getting it to work however is much harder, and I don't know how to do that. So I need some help with it.

I ask, I get a few views...and nothing.

It may have something to do with the fact that I (unfortunately and without thinking) updated to 4.3 on my Wii. The "behind-the-scenes fixes" gave me a hint, but I never understood the full extent of the consequences until after the fact, when I found I couldn't reinstall Homebrew.

I don't know whether BannerBomb is trustworthy, and I also don't think I can trust Riivulution. So I am stuck being unable to test my own hacks until I either choose either of the other two, or the next HBC Installer comes out.

So yeah. TL;DR: I need help with my hacking cause I don't know how to do that aspect of it. Badly.

You can trust BannerBomb(but it won't work on 4.3) and Riivolution. There should be a way around 4.3 soon if there isn't already. I seem to recall something about Indiana Pwns and Stack Smash working. Google.

As for your falco thing:
First you'd have to remove a bunch of polygons from link's MDL0 so that you have one MDL0 that contains only his sword, and another that has only this sheath. Then you could replace some of falco's other models (blaster = sword, reflector = sheath) located in FalcoMotionEtc.pac. Then you would have to make those two objects visible for every animation in PSA. Then comes animating and hitboxes and effects etc.

I have already exported the polygons for Link's sword. Which number up to 2 polygons total.

So I basically need to make two new MDL0s from scratch in order to do this?

On a similar note, since I would be completely replacing the Blaster and Reflector, can I not just move the blaster to his right hand, or would that require something someone else would have to do? I assume doing that would require hex editing, yes?

EDIT: Wait a tick, you mean I have to go and delete most of the original model for both, and THEN replace them?

Sounds pretty dang tedious.

Opening up falco and link to see what's up because I was actually just making an educated guess...

Okay, falco's reflector is attached to his body, I was thinking it was it's own model. In that case the only way to "replace" the reflector would be to export falco with DasDonkey Vertex Box and edit the reflector in 3DS.

As for the blaster, it's located in FitFalco, not FitFalcoMotionEtc like I guessed, you'll want to replace that with the MDL0 of the sword.

Just get help from the workshop.
