The Weekly Update Character Thread (NO BIAS)

Hello.

I am Smashbot. This is the thread where we shall discuss characters from various threads, websites, and other forums. Think of it as a Book Club, except with Brawl Candidates.

I must say, my findings were quite plentiful.

Keep in mind these characters change weekly.

OKAY! Those for this week are...


Geno

Ridley

Dedede

Sceptile

Mr. Resetti




Geno for me is good enough.

Ridley may be too big for fighting ,but he has the right stuff to be a fighter.

Dedede is a shoe in, no questions asked. It was a crime that he wasn't in Melee.

Sceptile is strange, I'd much rather see him as a Pokeball monster.

Mr. Resetti has been deconfirmed, but he would make the greatest mole fighter ever.

Geno - Not a fan, but by all means he should be in.

Ridley - I'd consider him a shoe-in. we need a metroid villian.

Dedede - Hammery goodness dished out by a bird, come on.

Sceptile - Meh.

Mr. Resetti - Either way, I don't care.

Geno - is a shoe-in.
Ridley - is what I live for. I don't think he is too big. They can always make him smaller.
Dedede - Sakurai plays as him ever night before bed.
Sceptile - Pokeball if it is lucky
Mr Resetti - is awesome

Geno - He's older and still badass even in todays standards. Geno 4 Ever.
Ridley - Not a fan. I support Metroid, but a pterodactyl just doesn't do it for me for a Brawl PC.
Dedede - Kirby and MK are enough to represent Kirby the series. Fits well as a boss character.
Sceptile - Sakurai was right to stick to First Generation. No questions asked.
Resetti - Already AT, why are we discussing it?

Geno - He's be pretty cool
Ridely - Yes. He'd be pretty awesome.
Dedede - He's, by far, my favorite hammer-weilding, penguin king ever!
Skeptile - Naw. His pre-evolution would be much cooler and even they would only make it in Pokeballs
Mr. Resetti - As much as I would love to have a whiny mole in Super Smash Bros, I'd rather put in someone else.

Okay, this sets up various discussions.

Clearly, the least popular character here is Sceptile.

Now, let's say Sakurai made him playable...

How would you feel? I, for one, would be slightly mad.

Geno, stands a great chance and is a very unique character

Ridley could obviously be resized he was Samus's size in the first Metroid, for me the newcomer I'm most eager about.

Dedede is like the real Kirby bad guy despite Metaknight, Dedede is amazing and he is a shoe-in

Sceptile, as Pokeball yes, as PC not a chance.

Ressetti is an AT.

Geno: A good choice for a 3rd party character, but I'd rather MegaMan.
Ridley: MOST OBVIOUS NEWCOMER CHOICE EVER! Seriously, I will be disappointed in Sakurai if he leaves out the most important Metroid character (besides Samus of course)
Dedede: Don't care too much, we have Metaknight. That satisfies me.
Sceptile: UGH! Don't we have enough Pokemon now?
Mr. Resetti: He is better off as an AT

Geno - I dont think hes got enough character. Hes a meh for me.

Ridley - I think he deserves to be in but the problem for me has always been his size, in the metroid games his size has ranged from stupidly large to about 1.5 times larger than samus. If they made he sort of a bower/DK size I think he would be alright.

Dedede - Win. If anyone should get in, he should. Dedede is one of my fave nintendo characters and defo deserves a spot.

Sceptile - I dunno who this is, is it a pokemon? I actully think that if we have any more pokemon in the game, it should be in the form of another trainer. Maybe blue (pokemon rival) or a team rocket member.

Mr. Resetti - I own animal crossing, Ive seen this guy once when my batteries ran out in the middle of a game. ONCE WAS ENOUGH. I freakin hate this guy, he should burn in an eternity of hell.

Geno - Haven't really played the Mario RPG, but from what I've seen and read of Geno, he seems alright. I wouldn't really be overly excited or annoyed either way though.

Ridley - Not the biggest Metroid fan, but Ridley is awesome anyways We need more space dragons

Dedede - Pure awesome in the form of a bumbling penguin! We just need him to complete the little Kirby circle and I'd be content without a great deal more Kirby representation than that. I know Meta Knight is still cool but Dedede seems like such a key player in the franchise too.

Sceptile - Dear lord no, was he ever even an option? He has fans? >.> He's not exactly important and I don't see the point in putting in a starter from one generation without the other two, which is why Pokemon Trainer made it work. No more forms of starter pokemon though, please.

Mr. Resetti - *Sigh* I had such high hopes for the hyperactive little mole, was one of my highest hopefuls actually. With him out of the picture I really don't quite know who'll rep Animal Crossing. I'm glad Nook is in the background, he was never that great to me anyway.

Geno: Not really a first choice of mine, but it'd be pretty cool.

Ridley: God, please!

Dedede: Same with Geno.

Sceptile: Darkrai plz.

Mr. Resetti: Already deconfirmed.

Listen. I'm no longer going to update the discussions WEEKLY.

No. Instead, the updates will be every other day.

So tommorrow will be a new roster. For now, let's discuss if these characters can, and in Resetti's case, could've made, Brawl.

Ridley - Not a big fan, but I will not debate his chances... They're obviously high.

Dedede - Yay! His chances are high as well.

Sceptile - Not going to be playable.

Sylux (A good char and villain to appear alongside Ridley and Samus.)

Black Knight (But of course Ike needs a villain!)

Waluigi (Would be a good WTF char.)

Bowser Jr. (The only other Mario villain good enough to make it besides Petey.)

Shiek (A maybe)

Blaziken (No thx. I'd prefer Lucario or Darkrai.)

Sylux: Don't know who this is...

Black Knight: I know little about him, but he does seem like a worthy swordsmen character.

Waluigi: A meh character definitly, from what I've seen of Waluigi he doesn't even have much unique to him. Wario had some unique traits and features, I just don't see much for him.

Bowser Jr.: I don't know, I just don't see it for him...

Shiek: Kinda depends on how far they're willing to pass the Twilight Princess Pattern they seem to be following with the Zelda characters in this one, other then knowing Zelda is there we don't know much about her in general when it comes to Brawl.
