RANKED MATCHES!

*picture of the Wi-Fi menu, but now with a button saying Ranked matches right below With Anyone and With Friends*
What's This?

Since I know many of you Brawlers out there are competetive, I have implemented this move to show everyone your moves.

*picture of lots of Mii's walking around in a plaza with the Smash symbol on the floor*
T-There's so many of them!

This is one way you can select an opponent. My pointing at one of the Miss with the Wii remote, you can see their name and "Smash Rating". This shows how good this player is.

*picture of a Mii selcted, named Nate, with three glowing Smash symbols right under his name*
Three Smash Balls means you're an okay player.

You can sort which groups of people are in the plaza, such as a random 50 people, by Smash Rating, or by what country they live in.

*picture of a message saying, "Nate wants to Brawl with you.*
When you get a message like this, someone has selects you and wants to Brawl!

You can pick either yes or no, and if you say no, the person will be banned from asking you for 30 seconds, to avoid spamming. If you say yes, you can ask other people to Brawl as well, or just the two of you can fight.

*shows a chart*
This is the Smash rating Boards

This shows who the best players are, along with which character they use the most and how many Wins and Losses.

Have fun smashing!

I def believe that ranked matches would be an outstanding addition to brawl. Just being in the top 10 alone would be an honor. I think it would def add to the competive atmosphere of Brawl thereby distinguishing Brawl not only a "party game" where a bunch of friends get together and have fun, but also as a game that can be taken a bit more seriously. In fact, I see Brawl shaping up in to be a game with a great story mode, a game that bring the "party" atmosphere and game with very good competive side if ranked matches were introduced.

Every place I go to that has ranked online matches, bases everything on your rank and does nothing but insult people with lower ranks. This place will turn as bad as Battle.net if that happens.
I understand what youre saying, but how would anyone know your rank unless you used the same name you use on this forum or you told people? As long as you keep your mouth shut, which may be difficult for most, you wont be ridiculed.

As much as I want it, it isn't going to happen. Sakurai said himself that ranked matches aren't going to happen because in his opinion, Brawl wouldn't be fun anymore. It's ridiculous if you ask me.

We can make online play work without a rank system...
If you want to be able to play 10+ fresh opponents in a single night and then possibly qualify for an elimination bracket on the next day... make some new friends and expand the amount of people you know on smashboards.... check out my sig.

Meh, I like the room idea.

If hacking was, for some reason, stopped, there would still be cheating. Anyone could get someone to play them for a while and have them suicide over and over so the other person wins matches, has their rank go up, and at the same time have no losses.

Yet there's thousands of competitive players who would love to have it, including myself.

Nintendo had a ranking system on star fox on the DS, so why wouldn't they for this?
ok heres something GO TO TOURNAMENTS and get your name up there.

I can see a lot of resetting of records if pros who thought they were hax get smashed every day, every match. That then deceives those who want a fair match. I'd prefer it if it was like the 'With Anyone' match, just if it was ranked instead, or an option to do ranked. Then, items would be disabled, and a random stage would be chosen.
