The Ultimate Wtf! Why Do You Think These People Aren't In Brawl

some people have said that some vets aren't returning to brawl. i am going to list all of the ones that I KNOW will return becuase...WTF why shouldn't they be in just because you hate them. i can't stand everyone saying these guys aren't in. after you read them and their reasons discuss and give me one reason besides you hating them that they shouldn't be in.

Ice Climbers- i just had to put this on a good note first since they were confirmed and some people thought they wouldn't make it so haha.

Captain Falcon- if anyone thinks he isn't in then wtf. nuff said.

Ness- he has been in since the beginning. who cares if sakurai was gonna replace him with lucas. he's an original and if ice climbers are in, then he is. as for lucas, why not make him an alternate costume? if he's gonna have the exact same moveset then gee why not.

Mr. Game and Watch- yeah well sakurai loves him and he's got a super original moveset. plus check out that smash icon discovery thread. that's obvious evidence he's in.

Mewtwo- he was the best 1st gen pokemon ever. who cares if he had the worst tier ever. he can be fixed. and lucario?!? how's he gonna replace mewtwo? they are completely different and mewtwo is a legendary. he is also a more well known pokemon than lucario.

Marth- he is plain awesome. original moveset and he is the face of fire emblem. he's a well known, famous war lord so he's not going anywhere. and for all you people who say he looks like ike..... how does a gay looking dude look anything like ike?

Ganondorf- just had to list him. he's in and if you don't think so then your high.

Falco- he's fox's main man. he's fox's luigi. he's in. just give him a new moveset it's not hard. make wolf a clone not falco again.

Young Link [WW link]- he is pretty much his own character. almost every zelda game has young link. he's pretty much made a name for himself and is his own character. vary his moveset to more of a "young link" one.

the other clones are screwed so too bad for those guys. and sheik........even i don't have an argument for her so she's 50 50.

Let the flame wars begin.

EDIT: if this needs to be moved to the brawl character discussion then go on mods and move it.

Every zelda game has had a young link? Ocarina of Time was the only zelda game to differentiate between ages, thank you very much!

THANK. YOU. Well, Lucas wouldnt be a clone. He had different PK moves and such from EB3. Other than that, hes Japan only, etc. I still hate the fact they blow off Ness though.
Why not just add em both? :D

She's referring to games where Link is a youth, as opposed to the teenaged Links in Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess. And quite a few Zelda games have a youngish aged Link, like ALttP,
LA (though that is the same Link), and some other ambiguously-aged Links are thought of as a young Link. Check out Young Link's Classic Mode trophy, it explains the phenomenon.


And I am a Young Link in Brawl supporter. If he can uniqueify his moveset enough (hopefully with Majora's Mask powers), then he can get in.

I like the Lucas as an alternate costume idea, definite possibility there.

Marth is pretty much unconfirmed with the introduction of Ike and the fact that the US now actually has a couple of Fire Emblem games. Plus, I want Black Knight in.

Young Link is pretty much out because of his cloniness, but WW link is a definite replacement possibility, even though I disagree with this.

Even though I want Falco in there seems to be a shift in popularity towards Krystal because she'll be different. Wolf is stupid to put in just to be in, so I don't think Sakurai will put him in.

yes but falco and krystal can be completely different and falco is the original side kick.

The only proplem is there using TP zeld The only Zelda without a young Link. WW Link is possible Though.

I'm hoping Young Link isn't in the game. We don't need 2 Links when we could put more unique characters.

He's still the same blond elf in a green tunic, with a sword and shield. I'd much rather have Skull Kid, Sukapon, Muddy Mole, Little Mac, Takamaru, Isaac, Olimar, Ridley, Stafy, etc. You know, UNIQUE characters.

yes i know people want unique characters instead of "clones". my point is why get rid of a character to put someone else in? young link has lots of potential to be different. samus and zamus are the same person yet are very different so why not young link[ WW link] and link? and who says you have to bump someone to make room for someone else? just keep that said person and just simply add the wanted character. is that so hard?

this is completly biased and therefore worthless. personally, i agree with everything but young link and shiek, where you contradict yourself. you say young link is original and his own character, when he has the exact same moves as link. yet you think shiek had 50/50, when she was completly original. personally, i agree that there should be no return of young link, or an appearance of ww link.

how am i contradicting myself. i said young link is his own unique character and that sheik is just a little add on to OoT. who cares if young link has the same moves. ganondorf has the same moves as falcon so are they the same character?

I actually don't like it that Zamus is in the game, but since she's part of Samus and not a separate character, it doesn't bother me that much.

They obviously have a limit on the number of characters they wanted to have(workload,time,budget). Even if Young Link is the very last character they decide on and add he is still taking a spot for a more unique character.

yeah i'm sure young link would beat stafy and i completely disagree with little mac. young link deserves more of a chance then those two guys.

Captain Falcon/G&W/Ganondorf- Semi-confirmed as unloxkables

Falco is going to be revamped

Young Link- he's a clone so no.
Marth- Replaced by Ike
Mewtwo-???
Ness- Has a huge retro fanbase, no doubt he's in.

Stafy > Young Link
Stafy is huge in Japan. He deserves to be in this game.

If you think Little Mac is less deserving than another form of Link, then your opinion is worthless. IMHO

I agree with you Bajef8.
Even if I'm 50/50 about Young Link.. I wouldn't care if he is in or not.
It confuses me as much as you when others say the vets won't return.. especially ones from the SSB64.
Ness WILL return. Smash won't be the same without him.. it would be like if someone cut out a piece from a masterpiece painting which everyone who has seen it has gotten used to seeing it and then whoever cut it out tried to cover it over with something completely different.
I'm even expecting Dr. Mario to return as a alternate costume or something.

Anyway, I pretty much agree with most of your points.

The big things I disagree with are Young Link because he is FAR too much of a clone character. He and Adult Link are both the same character, while WW Link on the other hand was a different character. It'd just make more sense to me.


...and shouldn't this be in Character Discussion?

The only characters I'm so sure of returning are Luigi and Ganondorf. If they weren't playable it really wouldn't make any sense.

Link and Zelda, but no Ganondorf? Wouldn't Ganondorf be playable before Zelda? (sorry, nothing against Zelda, but if there were only two Zelda characters, do you honestly think that we'd have Link and Zelda? Or Link and Ganondorf?) Well all three of them are essential to the Zelda series, so I don't think we have anything to worry about.

And yeah, we have to have to Luigi. Do I need to explain?

Other then that, the rest of the characters aren't a for sure thing in my mind. I'm not saying that they won't return, but they do have a chance, I think.

For Ness, especially, I don't think that "They were in the original 12, so they must be playable!" is the truth. Sakurai never said that the original 12 would return.. and the fact that Sakurai outright stated that Ness would have been replaced had Mother 3 on the N64 come out, well... To say the least, it shows that he doesn't value that rule that they all must come back as much as us. It really just hints to us that Ness has a great chance of being replaced by Lucas.

I don't know why he has to replace Ness, but that's what Sakurai said... :ohwell:

I do believe at this juncture that Captain Falcon, Luigi, Ganondorf, and Game&Watch will return. I'm fairly confident on Jiggs, too.
