Smash Lord
Hey folks, this is IC3R again. I feel kinda bad for not giving you guys a team worth rating recently. However, in light of recent events happening in the world of Pokemon, I have finally devised the ultimate team: a team composed entirely of...
As much as I hate the buggers, I wanted to a make team of 6 Chomps just to prove how ******** good and diverse they can be—so I did. I may not be able to use this team on the Shoddy Ladder, or in many challenge battles (considering most folks keep the Species Clause on), but this team has won me every match its played…like about 6 battles >_>; Don’t worry, I actually ask my opponent if he/she/it feels up to fighting 6 Chomps; surprisingly, no one else used Chomp, or any other Uber for that matter… So without further ado, I introduce Chompfest…
Chomp #1 “LeadChomp” @ Leftovers / Smooth Rock
Careful / Sand Veil
EVs – 236 HP, 80 Att, 100 Def, 92 SpDef
~Dragon Claw
~Earthquake
~Aqua Tail / Sandstorm
~Stealth Rock
My opening Chomp; he lays down the law with the Pointy Rocks of Brokenness, and tries to remove a few threats while he’s hanging out. I bulked up Chomp so he can take a number of hits, and poured in a few EVs in Attack to do a bit more damage to whatever feels like showing up. I use Dragon Claw and Earthquake for STAB, and Aqua Tail just because it’s new and awesome like that (it’s also super-effective against Mamoswine and Hippowdon!!!). As a side-job, LeadChomp could set up an 8-turn Sandstorm for me, so the lucky Sand Veil can kick in and mess with folks, which my fifth Chomp specializes in
----------
Chomp #2 “SwiftChomp” @ Choice Scarf
Adamant (Jolly) / Sand Veil
EVs – 4 HP, 252 Att, 252 Spd
~Dragon Claw
~Earthquake
~Stone Edge
~Random Filler
This is my ScarfChomp; she’s faster than a whole lot of Pokes running around out there. Unfortunately, common Scarfers like Gengar and just plain faster-than-hell Pokes like Deoxys-E still outrun me by quite a bit, and could easily sweep the field with HP Ice and Ice Beam respectively—except for one thing: I have plenty of critters to ruin them anyway. ClawQuake for STAB, Stone Edge for some Fliers and Levitators, and my fourth slot is really a filler slot, with which I have countless possibilities: Crunch or Iron Tail for defensive Pokes like Claydol or Cressilia, who go “Oh s***!” at a Defense drop --- Outrage for a fun late-game finisher --- Fire Fang or Fire Blast for Skarm, Zong, Forry, and the all-new super-broken Scizor --- Body Slam, Rock Climb, or Poison Jab if I feel like throwing a Status onto my foe --- Iron Head for Flinching capabilities --- Aqua Tail because it’s awesome --- and finally, Captivate for when Ice Beam or HP Ice users decide to switch in and end up getting a major Special Attack drop (take that b****es!!!!!!).
----------
Chomp #3 “LinkChomp” @ Life Orb
Naive / Sand Veil
EVs – 16 HP, 160 Att, 80 SpAtt, 252 Spd
~Dragon Claw
~Draco Meteor
~Earthquake
~Fire Blast
My attempt at making a “ChainChomp”; Basically a Life Orb-boosted mixed powerhouse that tears through a lot of Pokes before wearing down. Dragon/Ground/Fire hits every Poke for at least neutral.
----------
Chomp #4 “MagikChomp” @ Choice Specs
Timid (Modest) / Sand Veil
EVs – 4 HP, 252 SpAtt, 252 Spd
~Draco Meteor
~Dragon Pulse
~Earth Power
~Fire Blast
”ZOMG NO WAI ZPESHUL CHOMPZ?!?!/1!??1?one”
Yeah, that’s right…I made a SpecsChomp!!! I’ve done the unthinkable!!! MWAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!
Now, while it may not be as effective as Specs[insert Pokemon here], it can still throw folks for a loop. There’s room for Surf on there (as it can go anywhere really), and HP Electric/Grass/Fighting can be helpful at some points as well – specifically against Gyarados, Swampert or Rhyperior, and Tyranitar or Weavile.
----------
Chomp #5 “QueerChomp” @ Leftovers
Calm (Careful)/ Sand Veil
EVs – 188 HP, 116 Def, 100 SpAtt (Att), 104 SpDef
~Flamethrower (Earthquake / Dig)
~Toxic
~Substitute
~Protect
I’m using Chomp for something else that hasn’t been seriously considered (I think): ToxicStalling. I can “Prostitute,” if you will, to stall like crazy when I poison someone with Toxic, and I use Flamethrower or Earthquake to damage the punks who decide they don’t want to be Poisoned (a.k.a. Steels and Poisons). I may even use Dig because it practically protects me (and my Sub) for a turn, and I can’t be Taunted out of it! They get a free switch-in? Big deal…more pointy stones for them to switch into. Does extremely well in the midst of a Sandstorm.
----------
Chomp #6 “SuperChomp” @ Yache Berry
Jolly / Sand Veil
EVs – 4 HP, 252 Att, 252 Spd
~Dragon Claw
~Earthquake
~Fire Fang / Stone Edge
~Swords Dance
The infamous YacheChomp; not much can be said. Surprisingly, I’ve only had to whip this bad boy out once!
So yeah, my team of Garchomps that has a perfect (even if small) winning streak. I know I am a far from expert team builder, but I tried my best. Disregarding the fact they are Garchomps, how does this team fare in your eyes?
