I really hate how people always expect certain characters to be clones. Imagine if Luigi was never in and people wanted him in.."he would just be a clone of mario". Also Meta Knight has a colour swap based on Galacta Knight already so there is no way they would make him another costume. I'm sure they would make use of his shield to differenciate from Meta Knight. Also with his lance, his moveset would probably contain more stabbing attacks while Meta Knight's is more slashing ones (since it doesn't make sense to slash with a lance). I guess he could have a tipper effect too.
