After my first encounter with David and the rest of the gang, getting my *** pretty much handed to me on a silver pladder, I still noticed that when I got home, there was a significant increase in my overall skill. So I was pretty happy about that. It was a pretty slow month, fortunately Idea(a local puff player) was hosting a smashfest in January. So I had to gear up for that. At this time I was maining Mario and Fox(I Guess, I wasn’t really sure about who to play as a secondary at this point, seriously, that is). Practicing against computers almost seems pointless because they just do the same ****, so I worked on simple things, like consistently wavedashing, wall jumps and stuff like that.
So the day arrived of the tournament, I believe the day was January 15th, 2011. It was considerably warmer that day, by that I mean like -15 Celsius. Regardless, the house wasn’t too difficult to find… except for google maps failed to tell me where to get off the subway at, I apparently got it right the first time though somehow.
The day was pretty fun, played some doubles for like 3 hours straight. I was happy because I was actually hanging in with everyone else and not just getting *****. The group decided to have a tournament, 5$ entry fee each. They wanted atleast 16 people in the tournament(4 pools of 4[durrr]) They had 15 and despite the fact that I knew I was going to get owned, I decided to join anways, its 5$ and I’m basically doing them a favour. I ended up in a pool with Sauc3, Here Rest A Cemetery and the one and only, Raynex. First I played Sauc3, I took 2 stocks off him in each match, but he wasn’t using his main so… yeah… Then I had to face Raynex(yay), I used my Mario in the first match, he used Fox(FML) I took 1 stocks and I was so proud. The best part about that one stock I took, was that it was actually a 10% to death. Grab, jab, down-throw, UpSmash, Bair, Uair, Bair, then bair while he’s off stage, gorgeous! Then we switched characters, he used Mario, I used Fox, once again, I took 1 stock(Bernard’s got a pretty solid Mario lol). Afterwards I got to face HRAC and both matches I used Mario against his Fox and Ganon, both times coming up just shy, of beating him (high percentage on the last stock). Fun fact about my pool, in the end, Raynex got 3rd, Sauc3 got 5th and HRAC got 7th /16 so I had a decent pool
After this I played David in a few friendlies where he ***** me like never before with his Sheik, he actually beat my Fox in 59 seconds, that was my last game of the night I left that Day thinking “well I got destroyed"
So yeah.
On Another note, sorry about the longevity of my story updating... I dont have internet, I have up to part 5 or 6 written... But Ill try to get more frequent and consistent, thanks guys
